Daejeon Innovation Center, Recruiting Participating Companies for the ‘Mongolian Market Development Program’

Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Daehee Park, hereinafter referred to as Daejeon Innovation Center) is recruiting startups to participate in the 'Mongolia Market Development Program' to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in September of this year until the 18th.

This program, co-hosted by the Daejeon Innovation Center and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), selects 10 promising startups in the food and biotech (health functional foods, cosmetics, etc.) sectors and was designed to create practical connections between local Mongolian consumers, distributors, and startups.

The selected startups will stay in Ulaanbaatar for six days from September 3rd to 8th, where they will be able to directly display their products and receive feedback through pop-up stores operated in outdoor spaces in the city center.

Daejeon Innovation Center is planning a pop-up store in cooperation with local Mongolian organizations (Science Park Administration) and large corporations (MONOS), and expects that this will be an opportunity to lay the foundation for future product advancement by experiencing the reactions of local consumers, focusing on areas with a high floating population.

Additionally, the 'Buyer Matching Event' will provide product explanations and consultation opportunities for major Mongolian distribution companies, and will allow for direct discussion of local entry strategies.

In addition, the 'Korea-Mongolia Startup Exchange Meeting' will allow for practical network building through exchanges with Mongolian accelerators and startups, including technical cooperation and establishing market entry strategies.

Startups selected for this program will be provided with various local activities, including ▲airfare and accommodation (one person per company) ▲Mongolian interpretation ▲support for setting up and operating pop-up store booths ▲participation in consultations and exchange meetings. In particular, we plan to actively support local marketing by producing and distributing an integrated directory book containing products from participating companies.

Park Dae-hee, CEO of Daejeon Innovation Center, said, “Mongolia is a promising emerging market where demand for Korean products is steadily increasing along with the spread of Korean Wave culture,” and added, “This program will be an opportunity to go beyond short-term marketing and form long-term local partnerships and lay the foundation for global expansion.”
