Cosem Signs ODM Supply Agreement with Oxford Instruments

On the 9th, Cosem announced that it had signed an ODM (original design manufacturer) supply contract for ion polisher equipment with Oxford Instruments, a British scientific equipment company.

Oxford Instruments is a British scientific instrument company established in 1959, with a wide range of technologies in the field of materials analysis and characterization equipment. In particular, it has secured a high global market share in the backscatter electron diffraction pattern analyzer (EBSD) market, which is used to analyze crystalline materials such as metals, ceramics, and semiconductors.

Through this contract, Cosem will be responsible for the design, development, and production of ion etching equipment essential for EBSD analysis, while Oxford Instruments will supply the equipment in a package form together with its EBSD system. Cosem stated that it has concluded this contract after four years of product development and quality evaluation.

ODM is a method in which the manufacturer is fully responsible for everything from product design and development to manufacturing. This contract is evaluated as an example of Cosem's technological prowess and quality competitiveness being officially recognized in the global scientific equipment market.

“Signing an ODM contract with a global company with very high requirements for technology and quality means that KOSEM’s technology and quality management system meet international standards,” explained Vice President Yong-Joo Kim of KOSEM.
