The Future Mobility Center of the Next Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute (Director Yeon-Sang Kim, hereinafter referred to as the Future Mobility Research Institute), a joint corporation of Gyeonggi Province and Seoul National University, announced that it will participate in the '2025 Autonomous Mobility Industry Exhibition (AME2025)' held at COEX C Hall in Seoul for three days from Wednesday, July 9 to Friday, July 11.
In this exhibition, Yungkiwon will operate the 'Gyeonggi-do Future Mobility Center Joint Pavilion' with four companies (MobilWithus, CityIlab, SUM, and HillsRobotics) in the center. The participating companies plan to showcase their technologies and services, such as mobility security, AI-based image analysis, and autonomous driving software, and seek opportunities for cooperation with domestic and international stakeholders.
Also on display will be the autonomous cooperative driving public transportation bus 'Panta G Bus' currently in operation in Pangyo, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. In order to complement the limitations of existing autonomous vehicles' cameras, radars, and lidars, the Panta G Bus is a bus that cooperatively drives by receiving real-time road infrastructure information from vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication and the control center. During the exhibition, visitors will be able to see the autonomous driving technology actually implemented in the vehicle with their own eyes.
In addition, at the '2025 Autonomous Driving Industry Conference' to be held on Thursday, July 10, Senior Researcher Hyung-Joo Kim of the Korea Institute of Robotics and Computer Science will present on the topic of 'Operation Cases and Implications of Autonomous Public Transportation Panta G Bus'. Through the presentation, he plans to present implications on the operation cases of autonomous driving services based on evidence and the establishment and application of policy and technical systems for providing safe passenger transportation services.
Details on how to participate and the details of the exhibition and conference, which will be held at COEX in Seoul for three days from July 9, can be found on the 2025 Autonomous Driving Mobility Industry Exhibition website.
Kim Yeon-sang, the head of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade, said, “Autonomous driving is the core of the future mobility industry and is changing the paradigm of public transportation,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that Gyeonggi-do can establish itself as a leading region in the future mobility industry through demonstration-based technology development and cooperation between academia, industry, and research.”
