Seoul Techno Park and Geumcheon-gu Sign Business Agreement

Seoul Technopark (Director Jong-wook Yoon) announced on the 8th that it signed a 'MOU on the development of the Air Force base site to strengthen the urban competitiveness of Seoul and Geumcheon' with Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Seong-hoon Yoo) in a small conference room on the 9th floor of Geumcheon-gu Office.

This agreement is part of a strategic cooperation to transform the Air Force base site in Geumcheon-gu into a new industry cluster centered on cutting-edge industries and foster it as an economic hub in the southwestern part of Seoul. The two organizations are focusing on enhancing industrial competitiveness in the region and securing future growth engines through mutual cooperation.

According to the agreement, Seoul Technopark will pursue major tasks such as ▲ conducting research on industrial development plans within the target site, ▲ establishing public incubation infrastructure through the establishment of a new headquarters in the western region, ▲ linking with and supporting small and medium-sized and venture companies within G Valley, and ▲ attracting anchor companies. Geumcheon-gu agreed to ▲ improve the urban environment to enable attracting companies and industrial incubation, and ▲ cooperate in securing new industrial space using public contribution facilities.

The two organizations plan to form a working group (TF) to smoothly promote business and establish an annual implementation plan by identifying strategic industries in the region and establishing a roadmap for attracting industries.

Seoul Technopark Director Jong-wook Yoon said, “We will work with innovation organizations in Geumcheon-gu and Seoul to analyze and select industries suitable for the target site and establish a foundation for attracting anchor companies.”

Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yoo Seong-hun said, “We expect this agreement to contribute to strengthening Geumcheon-gu’s future industrial competitiveness,” and “We will actively pursue attracting cutting-edge industries and joint growth of local companies through close cooperation with Seoul Technopark.”
