Seoul Economic Promotion Agency and Seoul Energy Corporation Sign Business Agreement

The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (CEO Kim Hyun-woo, hereinafter referred to as the “SBA”) and Seoul Energy Corporation (CEO Hwang Bo-yeon, hereinafter referred to as the “Corporation”) have joined hands to support private technologies that will lead future innovation in the energy and environment sectors.

The two organizations will sign a business agreement (MOU) for the 'ESG Open Testbed Project' at Seoul Startup Hub Mplus on July 10th and begin full-scale cooperation. This agreement is a public-private cooperative demonstration model in which the public corporation provides its energy infrastructure to the private sector as an open testbed and the SBA cooperates in supporting companies through technology competitions and commercialization linkages.

Through this collaboration, SBA will lead technology competitions and commercialization linkages, and the corporation plans to open energy infrastructure such as electric and hydrogen vehicle charging stations, heat transport pipelines, and new and renewable energy facilities to provide them as test beds.

The subjects of the demonstration are technologies that are directly linked to realizing ESG values, such as carbon reduction, energy efficiency improvement, and domestic production of facilities. For excellent technologies, support will also be provided for developing sales channels and commercialization.

The two organizations will closely cooperate in ▲planning ESG-based innovative technology demonstration projects ▲opening public infrastructure and providing test beds ▲discovering demonstration companies and supporting their continued growth ▲creating a cooperation ecosystem and disseminating results. They plan to gradually promote the project through the first half of 2026, starting with an innovative technology contest in August.

Kim Hyun-woo, CEO of the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, said, “This agreement is significant in that it goes beyond simple empirical support and serves as a concrete implementation model for realizing Seoul’s carbon neutrality and ESG values.” He added, “SBA will actively support Seoul’s innovative companies so that they can demonstrate their capabilities on a wider stage and create a sustainable industrial ecosystem.”
