Drap signs business agreement with Witz

Drap Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Ju-wan), which operates a generative AI image creation service, announced on the 11th that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) with Witz Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Jin-ik and Kim Jeong-min), which operates the character license transaction platform 'Witz Shop', to expand the use of character IP.

This agreement aims to develop a new business model for the character licensing market by combining generative AI technology and K-content, and to promote joint projects to lower the entry barriers to character utilization, especially for small business owners.

Drap has a technology that automatically generates images of various situations and poses by learning the appearance and characteristics of specific people or characters based on a small amount of image data. This technology can be applied to various fields such as marketing and product design as it can produce image content without separate shooting or design work.

Witz operates an online platform called 'Witz Shop' that simplifies licensing transaction procedures, and is improving intellectual property protection and transaction efficiency through AI-based counterfeit detection systems and automatic contract issuance functions.

The two companies plan to jointly develop a service that will allow users who purchase character IPs to create desired image content without a designer, starting with Daejeon Metropolitan City’s character ‘Kkumsi Family (Kkumdoli)’. They plan to expand the service to various IPs registered with Witzshop in the future.

Lee Ju-wan, CEO of Drap, said, “I hope this agreement will be an opportunity to confirm the possibility of fusion between generative AI and K-content,” and “We will continue to advance our technology so that small business owners can easily utilize characters to enhance their branding and marketing competitiveness.”
