Electric vehicle charging infrastructure startup Bionever Co., Ltd. (CEO Yong-seok Lim) was finally selected as a ‘First Penguin’ company for the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund’s scale-up program.
On the 11th, Bionever announced that it held the 'First Penguin Selection Certificate Award Ceremony' in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Won-kyung Kim) and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund Pangyo Startup Branch. This selection is an achievement made as one of the direct investment companies of the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center.
'First Penguin' is a program in which the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund selects promising startups that are entering new markets based on creative ideas and technological prowess, and supports their full-cycle growth by providing guarantees of up to 4 billion won, investment linkages, and support for global expansion.
Established in 2022, Bionever possesses core technologies in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure field, including smart control charging technology based on ISO 15118, an electric vehicle charging communication protocol, SECC (Supply Equipment Communication Controller), artificial intelligence-based charging operation platform (CSMS·CEMS), and next-generation wireless charging technology.
In the same year, the company was selected for 'Super Gap Startup 1000+', TIPS, and Gyeonggi-do Climate Tech Startup, proving its technological prowess and marketability. It is also securing actual sales performance through contracts with major domestic charging business operators (CPOs).
CEO Lim Yong-seok said, “This selection as a First Penguin company is the result of an objective evaluation of our technological prowess and market potential,” and added, “We will focus on developing advanced technologies such as wireless charging, AI-based charging operation, and power demand management (DR) in the future.”
An official from the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation said, “Bionever is a technology-based company that has implemented vertical integration from charger components to finished products and operating platforms,” adding, “We plan to actively discover and support climate tech startups with high growth potential in the future.”
