Kibo, 'Technology Transaction Supporters Demand Discovery Reward Award Ceremony' Held

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced that it held the “Technology Transaction Supporters Demand Discovery Reward Award Ceremony” at its Seoul office on the 11th (Friday) and presented rewards to supporters who contributed to the conclusion of technology transfer contracts.

This event was held to commemorate the first case of a technology transfer contract being concluded through the activities of technology transaction supporters and to further activate the discovery of field-oriented technology transfer demand. In addition, a discussion session was held to share know-how among supporters and discuss difficulties encountered during activities and opinions on improving the system.

As part of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Small and Medium Enterprise Technology Transaction Activation Support Project', Kibo has been operating the Technology Transaction Supporter System officially since February of this year. Kibo appoints personnel from cooperative organizations with contact with small and medium enterprises as supporters through business agreements and supports field-oriented activities such as discovering companies in need of technology and providing guidance on technology transfer systems.

As of now, 189 supporters are active across the country through agreements with 18 organizations including the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, and Kibo pays compensation for the achievements when the companies in need discovered by these supporters sign technology transfer contracts.

The first case to receive a reward on this day was a technology transfer contract signed by a company discovered by Seolmyeongwoo Supporters from Hannam University's Startup Incubation Center, and the second case was a technology transfer contract signed by a company discovered by Leeraejin Supporters from Namseoul University's Startup Incubation Center. Contracts worth 7 million won and 20 million won were concluded respectively.

Lee Sang-chang, CEO of Kibo, said, “Technology Transaction Supporters play an important role in discovering technology needs of small and medium-sized enterprises on the spot and ensuring that promising technologies can be successfully transferred to companies in need.” He added, “Kibo will continue to actively support the activities of supporters with performance-based compensation and expand collaboration with relevant organizations to do its best to actively discover companies in need of technology transfer.”
