Korea Institute for Gender Equality Education Promotion, '2025 Gender Equality Policy Education Expert Workshop' held

The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (Director Samhwa Kim) under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on Tuesday, July 16 that it will hold the '2025 Gender Equality Policy Education Expert Workshop' at Space Share Seoul Station Center (Topaz Hall) on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16.

The '2025 Adult Education Policy Expert Workshop' will be held for 37 local education experts with 2 to 5 years of experience working across the country. Participants were selected through recommendations from the National Gender Impact Assessment Center and the Gender Equality Center.

This workshop was designed to enhance the professionalism and effectiveness of adult policy education. The goal is to have local education experts gather together to learn from each other about lecture planning strategies using field cases, so that they can strengthen the adult perspective as a civil servant's job competency and reflect it in their work to actually achieve policy improvement effects.

Gender-aware policy education is an education that promotes the ability to recognize the impact of laws, policies, customs, and various systems on women and men in all areas of society, based on Article 18 of the Framework Act on Gender Equality. The target audience is all public officials of the state and local governments.

In particular, it is useful in that it is conducted as a 'tailored program' that not only systematically designs teaching methods for gender-sensitive policy education but also shares concerns and know-how experienced in actual lecture fields by using the 'Gender Equality Policy Education Guidebook' developed by the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Education Promotion and Education as a textbook.

In addition, opportunities are provided to grow as a regional education expert through hands-on practice of writing lesson plans and expert coaching and mutual feedback.

Kim Sam-hwa, the head of the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Education Promotion, said, “Through this workshop, I hope that the instructors will gain confidence as regional education experts and play a central role in revitalizing regional gender-responsive policy education. I hope that this will contribute to strengthening the gender-responsive perspective as a civil servant’s job competency so that gender-responsive policies that the public can feel can be realized.”
