
The Korea Self-Reliance Welfare Development Institute (Director Hae-Sik Jeong) held a commemorative forum and a plaque ceremony on July 15 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Korea Self-Reliance Training Institute in 2025, and shared the future direction of self-reliance field education.
The ceremony was attended by people related to self-reliance, including Director Kim Su-hwan of the Self-Reliance Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Chairman Yoo Tae-gyun of the Korea Self-Reliance Welfare Development Institute, Chairman Lee Jae-ho of the Korea Regional Self-Reliance Center Association, Chairman Park Il-hyeon of the Metropolitan Self-Reliance Center Council, and Chairman Seo Yong-sik of the Korea Self-Reliance Enterprise Association, as well as welfare officials from the Korea Health and Welfare Human Resources Development Institute and the Korea Health and Medical Licensing Examination Institute. Local figures from Chungju City, including Chungju Mayor Cho Gil-hyeong, also attended the event.
Attendees on that day cheered for the Korea Self-Reliance Training Institute to become a hub for fostering self-reliance talents and asked for their contribution to the development of the local community in Chungju.
At the 10th anniversary commemorative forum held afterwards, 120 people from the self-reliance and education fields gathered to discuss various topics, including ▲self-reliance worker competency model and education system ▲self-reliance field expert talent training project results ▲self-reliance case management environment changes and education support ▲measures to introduce a standard education program to strengthen the basic self-reliance capabilities of participants.
At this forum, Jeong Hae-sik, the director of the Korea Self-Reliance Welfare Development Institute, stated, “The achievements of the Korea Self-Reliance Training Institute over the past 10 years are a journey of realizing the value of developing human resources for self-reliance projects,” and “We will listen to the voices of those in the self-reliance project field and faithfully fulfill our role as a central bridge connecting policies, projects, and the field with education.”
