Smile Information Technology, Wondoc, ATSense Sign 'K-Healthcare Global Business Partnership'

Multimodal data platform specialist Miso Information Technology (CEO Dong-wook Ahn) announced on the 17th that it will pursue entry into the global healthcare market together with non-face-to-face treatment specialist Wondoc (CEO Seon-geun Kim) and medical device manufacturer ATSense (CEO Jong-wook Jeong) .

The main contents of this collaboration between the three companies include the establishment of a non-face-to-face remote medical treatment system, collection of real-time biometric data through wearable devices, integration of medical data and patient management with the hospital information system (HIS), and joint development of a global healthcare export model.

Smile Information Technology is focusing on developing a variety of medical data integration platforms, including electronic health records (EHR) and personal health records (PHR), beyond hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic medical records (EMR), and is strengthening cooperation with domestic healthcare companies, medical foundations, and pharmaceutical and bio companies based on this.

ATSense manufactures patch-type long-term continuous electrocardiogram test devices that have obtained US FDA, European CE, and Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare medical device certifications, and is strong in chronic disease management and emergency response using heart rate and bio-signal measurement technology. The device is combined with Wondoc’s non-face-to-face treatment platform to enable real-time treatment and prescription without visiting a hospital, and is also linked to the distribution functions of major pharmaceutical companies’ medicines and supplies.

In addition, when the hospital information system of Smile Information Technology and the integrated clinical research support solution are linked, medical data scattered inside and outside medical institutions can be efficiently integrated and managed, which is expected to improve the operational efficiency of medical institutions.

The three companies are planning to first target areas with insufficient medical infrastructure or high demand for telemedicine, such as Central Asia and the Middle East, and introduce localized solutions such as a mobile-based primary care platform, a remote monitoring system for chronic diseases, and a light version of HIS for local health centers. After that, they plan to expand into the Russian, European, and North American markets.

Ahn Dong-wook, CEO of Smile Information Technology, said, “Based on the medical data platform, we will integrate treatment and prescription data from hospitals and pharmacies with biometric and lifelog data collected from mobile health devices to export a patient-centered K-healthcare environment to the global market.”

ATSENCE CEO Jeong Jong-wook said, “Wearable devices are establishing themselves as a core infrastructure for precision medicine based on medical data,” and “Through collaboration among three companies, we will provide wearable solutions based on medical data optimized for the global market.”

Wondoc CEO Kim Seon-geun said, “Non-face-to-face treatment can be an alternative to resolve the medical gap in overseas markets where there is a shortage of medical staff and hospitals,” and “Through this collaboration, we will be able to provide safe and accessible medical AI services to more people.”
