Vision AI solution company Alchera (CEO Young-gyu Hwang) announced that it has been selected as the supplier of facial recognition solutions for smart attendance management in the Ministry of Justice's 'Next-Generation Crime Prevention Information System Construction Project.'
This project was launched to advance crime prevention enforcement work such as probation, community service, and attendance orders into a digital basis and to solve the problem of aging of existing systems. In particular, the smart attendance management function aims to completely replace the existing kiosk-based system with an AI-based automatic attendance management system.
Through this project, Alchera plans to supply facial recognition solutions to approximately 5,000 probation offices and social service partner organizations, and accurately confirm the identity of the subject through real-time facial recognition. This is expected to increase the reliability and efficiency of attendance management by preventing proxy attendance and identity forgery and blocking unauthorized departures in advance.
The advancement of crime prevention information systems based on smart technology enhances the precision and systematicity of law enforcement and plays a role in supplementing the limitations of on-site probation personnel. Facial recognition attendance management technology supports the execution of enforcement measures such as night-time curfew orders in real time without violating human rights.
Alchera's facial recognition solution applies deep learning-based vision AI technology to achieve high accuracy and fast authentication speed, and maintains stable recognition performance even in real-life environments such as wearing a mask and under various lighting and angles. The solution, which has been verified in the financial, public, and security fields, also applies lightweight technology optimized for various field terminals such as tablets.
“Facial recognition technology is trusted across a wide range of industries,” said Hwang Young-gyu, CEO of Alchera. “Through this project, we will work together to ensure that AI technology can play an important role in building a social safety net.”
