– OCR technology applied to process documents in less than 20 seconds… ‘330% improvement in productivity’
– AI algorithm-based 'personalized service' that only 1 in 10 people could receive benefits
– CEO Baek Joo-seok “Improving operational efficiency and customer experience through AI… Accelerating business diversification”

Jobis&Villains (CEO Baek Joo-seok), which operates Samjyeonsam, a tax assistance service for 20 million people, announced on the 17th that it has significantly improved service operation efficiency and customer experience through AI-based automation services.
The key is optical character recognition (OCR), which converts images into text, and personalized algorithms and deductions based on large-scale language models (LLMs).
Samjwisam succeeded in processing more than 80% of the approximately 100,000 deduction documents received during the comprehensive income tax regular report period in May without additional review by AI. By utilizing OCR, document processing was shortened to less than 20 seconds. AI is taking the lead in everything from document input to OCR, analysis and verification, and classification.
Since the introduction of AI, operational efficiency has also improved, with work hours being reduced by more than 70%. CPD (Close Per Day, the number of cases processed per day) has increased significantly, resulting in an overall productivity increase of more than 330%.
Samjyeonsam introduced the 'AI personalized service' learned through LLM before the last regular report. It calculates and applies the optimal deduction items based on the customer's job group, income, gender, marital status, refund history, etc., and provides a personalized service that improves the customer experience through a flow of up to 4,608 combinations. Through this, 1 out of 10 people who did not receive deductions last year now receive deduction benefits. The number of deduction targets has increased due to the advancement of AI algorithms.
While improving LLM based on anonymized tax data, we are moving towards ‘optimized vertical AI’ by applying OCR to learning deduction documents, which have a lot of additional input due to the nature of tax tech.
Jarvis & Villains CEO Baek Ju-seok said, “We have proven that both operational efficiency and customer experience can be improved through AI,” and added, “We plan to accelerate business diversification through vertical AI.”
Jarvis & Villains recently announced its evolution into a “vertical AI-based national platform” by hiring Shin Min-kyun, former Kakao Senior Vice President, as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to oversee the recently launched AI business group.
