Gyeonggi Innovation Center, Gyeonggi Northern Region 'Startup 815 IR' held

The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Won-kyung Kim) announced that it held the 'Startup 815 IR' event on July 17th at the Gyeonggi Startup Innovation Space Northwest Zone in Goyang City, with the participation of 15 startup companies from the northern Gyeonggi region.

This event was organized as part of the northern expansion of the 'Startup 815 IR', a representative investment linkage program operated by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center. '815' is the name of the program, which was inspired by the address of the Pangyo Startup Zone, and this time, it was held for companies in the northern region, focusing on the Gyeonggi Innovation Center's Gyeonggi Northern Office (Goyang CIC), which is scheduled to open in November.

The event was attended by prospective entrepreneurs and early-stage startups recommended by relevant organizations in the northern Gyeonggi region, such as the Goyang Industrial Promotion Agency and Gyeonggi Daejin Techno Park, as well as universities such as Korea Aerospace University, Dongguk University, and Shinhan University, who held investor relations (IR) sessions and received consulting from experts in each field.

The Gyeonggi Innovation Center evaluated that this event provided an opportunity for companies in the northern region, which had limited opportunities to participate in IR events, to attract investment and expand their networks. It also added that it was an opportunity to reaffirm the need for regular operation of startup support and investment linkage programs in the northern Gyeonggi region.

CEO Kim Won-kyung said at the event, “The growth engine of the regional economy comes from a cooperative ecosystem centered around startups,” and “We will continue to provide practical support to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the northern Gyeonggi region.”
