Deepfine , a company specializing in XR (extended reality) spatial computing, announced on the 21st that it signed a business agreement with Korea Western Power for a 'power generation data utilization startup and venture company collaboration project' and will begin an XR business collaboration solution business utilizing smart glasses.
This collaborative project is a program promoted by Korea Western Power to discover new high value-added energy business models based on data utilization for small and medium-sized and venture companies and to promote digital transformation. The target of support is small and medium-sized companies that have been in business for less than 7 years and prospective entrepreneurs.
Through this project, Deepfine plans to apply its XR solution, ‘DEEP.FINE AR.ON (DAO)’ and XR spatial information construction platform, ‘DEEP.FINE Spatial Crafter (DSC)’ to power plant sites. The main goal is to increase the efficiency and safety of facility operation and establish a digital work environment on site.
The system provided by Deepfine provides functions such as equipment serial number recognition, real-time information provision, and 3D manual confirmation through smart glasses, and also utilizes precise location recognition technology based on the visual positioning system (VPS). It also includes a function to improve work accuracy by linking past inspection history and defect data.
In the future, we plan to integrate and manage work manuals and data through linkage with the internal ERP system, and also build a management system that can detect on-site risk factors in real time. In addition, a manual production tool based on 3D modeling will be provided to support direct production and management of manual content suitable for various work situations.
DeepFine also plans to expand the application of XR technology in the education sector. It will build a simulation-based learning environment to enable intuitive learning about facility maintenance procedures and operating principles, and will seek to improve worker proficiency and prevent mistakes that may occur during work.
A Deepfine official said, “Through this agreement, we will be able to implement an XR solution optimized for the power generation industry and contribute to the digital transformation of Korea Western Power.”
