Inje University RISE Business Headquarters and KOSRE, Operate 'ISO 14001 Certification Auditor and ESG Management Level Diagnosis Specialist Training Course'

The Korea SMEs and Startups Certification Institute (President Jin-yeop Eom, KOSRE) announced that it conducted the 'ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) Certification Auditor and ESG Management Level Diagnosis Expert Training Course' for six days from the 14th to the 19th in collaboration with the Inje University RISE Business Headquarters (Director Beom-geun Kim).

According to the 'ESG Response Status Survey Results' conducted by the Korea Federation of SMEs in 2025, 46.2% of 288 exporting SMEs responded that they had 'introduced ESG management'. 25.3% said they 'planned to implement it within 3 years', while 28.5% said they 'had not made any introduction plans'.

Companies that failed to establish a plan to introduce ESG management cited the following as reasons: ▲lack of specialized personnel (37.8%), ▲difficulty in adjusting management priorities (36.6%), and ▲burden of introduction and operating costs (29.3%).

Inje University's RISE Business Division has determined that in order to properly respond to the level of ESG management that will be demanded externally in the future, it is urgent to train relevant personnel. To address this issue, the division has begun seeking alternatives through education linked to regional innovation projects based on cooperation between local governments and universities.

Professor Bong-Gil Kim of Inje University said, “I hope that this training will serve as a foundation for students to contribute to regional development by developing them into talents with specialized knowledge and capabilities in ISO 14001 (environmental management system) and ESG.”
