Meisa , an AI-based spatial information technology company, announced on the 23rd that it has signed a contract to supply satellite imagery-based smart construction solutions with Takenaka Corporation, one of Japan's five largest general construction companies.
This contract was made when Takenaka Corporation, which was looking for alternative technologies for some construction sites where drone operations are restricted, decided to pilot Meisa’s satellite imagery-based platform. Meisa’s solution secures time series data through high-resolution satellite images and provides various functions such as remote monitoring, on-site communication, and safety management based on this. It is characterized by the fact that it can be used without drone flight approval or on-site equipment installation, allowing operation even in restricted flight areas.
Takenaka Komuro is also paying attention to Meisa’s advanced analysis capabilities, such as AI-based object detection technology, material and equipment counting functions, and InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar)-based ground subsidence analysis, and plans to continue further discussions on expanding the scope of application of the technology in the future.
This supply contract is based on domestic cases where Meisa has practically applied satellite images to construction sites. Meisa supplied a smart construction solution based on satellite images to the 'LH Bucheon Daejang Public Housing District Construction Project' site constructed by Dongbu Construction in 2023, and presented a case of remote site management using satellite data rather than drones.
Meisa provides remote monitoring solutions that integrate and analyze drone and satellite data based on digital twin technology, and has recently begun to make full-fledged inroads into the Japanese market. Prior to this contract with Takenaka Corporation, it also established partnerships with major Japanese construction company Obayashi Corporation and telecommunications company KDDI.
