Hikvision, an AIoT product and solution provider, announced on the 23rd that many of its products have received international cybersecurity standard 'EN 18031' certification from global testing, inspection, and certification organization SGS.
EN 18031 is a standard that defines the core security and quality requirements applicable to wireless and IoT devices (such as Wi-Fi/4G cameras, Bluetooth headsets, and in-vehicle connectivity components). The certification will be mandatory under the EU’s CE Radio Equipment Directive (CE-RED) from January 2025, making it a prerequisite for entry into the EU market.
Hikvision has obtained the EN 18031 cybersecurity standard certification through an independent assessment conducted by SGS, officially demonstrating compliance with regulatory standards from an EU designated agency. In addition, Hikvision integrates a multi-layered protection system from design to production and maintenance in five key security areas: device security, network security, application security, data security, and operational security.
In addition, Hikvision is also focusing on complying with major global security regulations and laws, such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act (PSTI), Singapore Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS), and Japan JC-STAR IoT Cybersecurity Labelling Program.
“Through continuous cybersecurity and data protection innovation and industry collaboration, we are committed to building a safer and more reliable digital ecosystem,” said Hikvision Korea Thailand President.
