
Gangwon Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Lee Hae-jeong, hereinafter referred to as Gangwon Innovation Center) announced that it held the '2025 Gangwon Open Innovation Connect Day' at the Chuncheon ICT Venture Center on July 23.
This event was organized to promote collaboration between promising startups and large and medium-sized companies in the province and to activate the local startup ecosystem based on open innovation. Around 30 startups in the province, along with various companies such as Naver Cloud, Korea Road Traffic Authority, and Jetema, participated in the event, and key figures such as Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Economic Bureau Director Kim Man-ho, Gangwon Regional SMEs and Startups Administration Director Park Soon-hong, and Chuncheon Bio Industry Promotion Agency Director Kim Chang-hyeok attended.
The event consisted of two parts. In the first part, the Gangwon Innovation Center introduced its open innovation business, presented excellent collaboration cases of startups, and introduced programs of participating companies. Naver Cloud shared its support strategy for technology-based startups through the startup support program 'Greenhouse', and the Korea Road Traffic Authority introduced overseas verification and export support projects in the field of traffic safety. Jetema presented collaboration cases in the bio-aesthetics field that it is currently promoting with the Gangwon Innovation Center.
In the second part, 1:1 business consultations between startups and companies in demand continued, and discussions took place on practical collaboration plans.
Kim Man-ho, Director of the Economic Bureau of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, said, “Through this event, we were able to confirm the potential for open innovation in the Gangwon region,” and added, “We will continue to provide administrative support so that local startups can grow through collaboration with companies.” Park Soon-hong, Director of the Gangwon Regional SMEs and Startups Administration, also said, “This is a practical venue for collaboration where startups and companies in need meet directly,” and added, “We will expand policy cooperation to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the Gangwon region.”
