Carbon emissions data management company Glassdom announced on the 24th that its 'Carbon Border Adjustment Scheme (CBAM) Management Solution' has been verified by international certification agency Lloyd's Register (LRQA) as meeting EU regulatory standards. LRQA is an EU-ETS (Emissions Trading System) verification agency recognized by the EU, and will also be registered as a CBAM accredited verification agency in the future.
This verification is significant in that it officially proves the level of technical readiness to respond to the European Union's CBAM system, which will be fully implemented from 2026, and has secured the ability to respond to carbon emission calculation and third-party verification requirements faced by domestic export companies.
CBAM is a system that reports the carbon emissions of imported products for six items, including steel, aluminum, cement, fertilizer, electricity, and hydrogen, and charges fees according to certain criteria. Until the end of this year, it is limited to reporting obligations, but from 2026, certificate submission and fee payment will be required.
Glassdom's CBAM management solution is based on SaaS (Software as a Service) and provides one-stop functions including product identification, production process monitoring, automatic carbon emissions calculation, report generation, and third-party verification linkage. Demand for introduction is increasing, especially among small and medium-sized export companies that lack specialized personnel or are burdened by consulting costs.
In addition, Glassdome has various global environmental regulation response solutions, such as the 'Product Carbon Footprint Solution' that has obtained ISO 14067 international standard and Catena-X, a European industrial data standard, and the 'Integrated Carbon Management Solution' that includes a greenhouse gas calculation function based on the GHG protocol.
“This verification was conducted based on an objective evaluation of the solution’s technical completeness and field applicability,” said Lee Il-hyung, CEO of Lloyd’s Register. “We expect Glassdom’s solution to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of CBAM response.”
Ham Jin-ki, CEO of Glass Dome Korea, said, “Through the verification by Lloyd’s Register, we have officially recognized the reliability of our solution,” and added, “We plan to continue to advance our technology so that domestic export companies can effectively respond to the CBAM system.”
