The international development cooperation NGO Jipa Foundation (CEO Park Chung-kwan) held an opening ceremony for the Gyeonggi West Incheon Regional Headquarters on the 25th and began to actively promote regional welfare projects.
This opening ceremony was held at the Gyeonggi West Incheon Regional Headquarters office located in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, and was attended by 14 people from 10 cooperative organizations, including Galsan Integrated Social Welfare Center, Ganghwa-gun Disabled Welfare Center, Gyeyang-gu Family Center, Boramae Daycare Center, Shinmyeong Daycare Center, Incheon Metropolitan City Disabled Welfare Center Association, Incheon City Senior Citizens Comprehensive Welfare Center Association, Incheon Home Care Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Single-Parent Family Association Hanagi, and Happy Eye Regional Children’s Center.
The event began with an opening declaration, followed by an introduction of the vision and operating direction of the Gyeonggi West Incheon Regional Headquarters, and a tea party. During the tea party, each partner organization shared major welfare project cases and discussed welfare issues in the region. Participants agreed on the need to establish a field-centered, complex welfare system that provides long-term welfare support for the vulnerable throughout their lives, as well as emotional, housing, self-reliance, and aftercare.
The Gyeonggi West Incheon Regional Headquarters plans to promote various welfare projects, such as childcare center child/youth sponsorship, daily necessities kit support, and livelihood support for children, families, and vulnerable groups in Incheon Metropolitan City and the western part of Gyeonggi Province. It also plans to establish itself as a regional welfare hub by strengthening community networks, developing resources, and planning social and economic models.
The head of the Gyeonggi-West Incheon Regional Headquarters of the Jipa Foundation, Jeong Sun-ho, said, “The headquarters is an organization that works closely with the field to eliminate blind spots in welfare and realize welfare centered on the beneficiaries,” and added, “We will use the opening ceremony as an opportunity to strengthen cooperative relationships with various organizations in the region and work to revitalize regional welfare.”
