The Center for Comprehensive Support for Disabled Enterprises Holds a Policy Discussion for the Introduction of Jobs for Disabled Persons in Jeju-style Universal Agriculture

The 'Jeju-type Universal Agriculture Policy Discussion for the Introduction of Jobs for the Disabled' was held in the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Council conference room on Friday, July 25. This discussion was co-hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Council members Kim Gyeong-hak, Kang Seong-ui, and Hyun Ji-hong, and organized by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Center for Comprehensive Support for Enterprises for the Disabled (Chairman Park Maru) .

The key point of the policy discussion that day is to introduce customized jobs for the disabled in the universal agricultural sector and to establish cooperative measures for supporting jobs for the disabled that are currently being implemented in a fragmented manner.

Mr. Kang Dong-gyu, the head of the private agricultural research institute 'Regional Academy', presented universal agricultural cases from Japan and Europe. Then, Mr. Park Jin-mo, the team leader of the Comprehensive Support Center for Disabled Enterprises, who was in charge of the keynote speech, introduced the operation case of Jeju Value Creation Center (a specialized business site for the developmentally disabled) and reported on the development plan for universal agricultural suitable for Jeju's agricultural and disabled employment environment.

In the discussion that followed, Park Maru, Director of the Comprehensive Support Center for Disabled Enterprises, served as the moderator, and ▲Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Council Health, Welfare and Safety Committee member Kang Seong-ui ▲Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Eco-Friendly Agriculture Policy Division Manager Kim Yeong-jun ▲Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Comprehensive Welfare Center for Disabled Persons Director Go Gyeong-hee ▲Jeju region intelligent farm (smart farm) specialist company 'JD Tech' CEO Kim Hee-chan participated as panelists and shared various opinions.

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Assemblyman Kim Gyeong-hak promised full support, saying, “Universal agriculture is a new approach that expands the horizon of community integration and welfare by building an inclusive job ecosystem based on agriculture where people with and without disabilities can work together.”

Park Maru, the director of the Comprehensive Support Center for Disabled Enterprises, explained the significance of the discussion by saying, “I hope this will be the starting point for deriving practical policies to expand universal agriculture as a win-win solution that can provide opportunities for the disabled to become independent while also revitalizing local agriculture struggling with an aging population.”
