Alicon selected as 'Scale-up Tips Global Type' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

Alicon Co., Ltd. (CEO Minhee Cho), an AI-based smart space operation solution company, announced on the 28th that it has been selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Scale-up Tips Global' project and will receive up to 1.5 billion won in research and development (R&D) funds over the next three years.

Through this project, Alicon sets the vision performance enhancement and model lightening of multimodal AI for space operators as its main tasks, and plans to increase the efficiency and scalability of smart space management based on advanced artificial intelligence technology. Multimodal AI is a technology that accurately recognizes complex situations by comprehensively processing various types of data such as images, voices, and sensors, and is attracting attention as a core foundation for smart space operation.

The AI agent that Alicorn is developing has the ability to recognize situations and perform autonomous judgments and actions, and it can operate multiple physical spaces 24 hours a day on a single integrated platform. This drastically reduces the management manpower that was previously required for each space, and implements a system that can operate dozens of spaces simultaneously with a small number of people.

Based on these technological capabilities, Alicon has attracted a cumulative investment of over 10 billion won from Shinhan Financial Group, KT Estate, Industrial Bank of Korea, and IM Investment Partners, and its solutions are actually being applied in office buildings and commercial spaces at home and abroad.

This government project selection is expected to be an opportunity for Alicorn to strengthen the performance of multimodal AI and advance into global markets such as Asia, North America, and Europe by advancing into lightweight technology.

CEO Cho Min-hee said, “Alicon’s solution is contributing to increasing operational efficiency and competitiveness of our customers by enabling integrated management of distributed spaces into a single AI-based platform,” and “Based on government support, we will further accelerate technological advancements and global market expansion.”
