Korea Startup Forum (Chairman Sangwoo Han, hereinafter referred to as KOSPO) announced on the 28th that it had concluded the '2025 Busan Slush'D' held on the Busan Panstar Miracle for two days from July 26th to 27th.
'Busan Slushid' is a regional linkage program of Finland's global startup event 'SLUSH', and is a startup networking event planned and operated directly by COSPO based on its partnership with Slush. This event, now in its third year, is the first in Korea to be held on a ship, and is composed of an immersive program where space and content are organically connected.
About 180 participants, including pre-selected promising startups, prospective entrepreneurs, and investors, as well as Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Technology Venture Investment Center, Industrial Bank of Korea, Korea Southern Power, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fanstar, Busan National University Startup Support Group, and Mission Law Firm, participated in the event.
In the first session of the event, 'Slush'D Talk', Chairman Cho Min-sik of the Korea Angel Investment Association and CEO Park Sang-yeop participated and shared their opinions on the process of building partnerships and trust between investors and founders. In the following session, 'Slush'D With', three startups, Gridatec, Soft Squared, and Ipinau, sought contact points with investors through IR pitching.
In addition, various exchange programs were run, such as the investor matching program 'Slush'D Meet-Face2VC', the 1-minute presentation program 'Elevator Pitching', and the young entrepreneur mentoring program 'Slush'D Youth'.
On the last day of the event, the 'Slush'D 10' awards ceremony and the networking event 'Slush'D Night' were held. At the awards ceremony, the startup Pharos Marine, which develops an eco-friendly ship propulsion system based on hydrogen and electricity, was selected as the final winning team and received a prize of 3 million won and a plaque.
COSPO evaluated it as “a meaningful attempt to experiment with a new type of regional startup network model that breaks away from the standard conference format and allows for close interaction between founders, investors, and the private and public sectors.”
Chairman Han Sang-woo said, “Busan Slushid attempts a new form of connection every year, and this cruise format also served as an opportunity to expand deep encounters within the startup ecosystem.”
