Plantner, a company specializing in eco-friendly fertilizers and biomaterials, announced that it signed an MOU with Vietnam’s digital agricultural food platform FoodMap.asia. The agreement was made with the goal of establishing a cooperative system to create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem and strengthen the reliability of the global agricultural product supply chain.
Foodmap Asia is a Southeast Asia-based agricultural and food digital distribution platform that operates a B2C marketplace that directly connects farmers and consumers, as well as a B2B distribution channel for restaurants and wholesalers. It is also evaluated as a representative sustainable agricultural platform in Vietnam through its ESG management model that displays environmental indicators such as carbon emissions in product information.
Through this agreement, Plantner will supply eco-friendly, fully-released fertilizers developed domestically to local organic farms in Vietnam, and promote multi-faceted technical cooperation, such as establishing a digital-based crop growth data recording and management system. In particular, by systematically managing data such as crop growth, weather, and yield based on international standard farming journals, it plans to contribute to increasing farm productivity and data utilization capabilities.
The two companies plan to build a model that distributes agricultural products that have been managed based on data throughout the entire production process using Plantner’s digital plant management system as “premium certified agricultural products” on the Food Map Asia platform. The data recorded in this process, such as soil information, fertilization history, growth patterns, and harvest dates, will be linked to Food Map Asia’s QR code-based history management system, which is expected to provide transparent production history to consumers and provide product differentiation and brand value to farmers.
Plantner CEO Shin Jeong-woo said, “We will contribute to the sustainability and productivity of Asian agriculture based on eco-friendly fertilizer technology that has been verified in Korea,” and “The cooperation with Food Map Asia will become the foundation for realizing smart agriculture that connects technology, distribution, and the environment.”
A Foodmap Asia official said, “Plantner is a startup that has been developing science-based agricultural solutions. When combined with a platform-based food history management system, it will help increase the market reliability of local agricultural products.”
