Ulsan Creative Economy Innovation Center, 2025 BUSAN Slush'D – IR ON BOARD held

The Ulsan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Heon-seong Kim) announced that the investment pitching program '2025 BUSAN Slush'D – IR ON BOARD' was held, and that startups formed partnerships in various fields such as marketing and technology development in addition to investment in a natural atmosphere rather than a formal pitching.

This event, held on the Panstar Miracle ship for two days from July 26 (Sat) to 27 (Sun), was attended by approximately 180 people including Ulsan Port Authority, six startups in the smart shipping logistics startup Flame Unicorn Test and open innovation sectors, VCs, college student aspiring entrepreneurs, hosting organizations, operators, promotion committee members, and operating personnel.

Among the startups selected for the “Smart Shipping Logistics Startup Flame Support Project” hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Ulsan Port Authority, six companies participated in the Ulsan Creative Economy Innovation Center.
This event was planned with the goal of building a practical network beyond a one-time meeting between startups and VCs, and was evaluated as a novel program that effectively met the needs of both VCs and startups by actively utilizing the special environment of a “seamless space (on board)” to encourage various forms of exchange.

The VC side briefly introduced each investment style, the latest trend areas, and key capabilities, and the startup listened to this, explored the relevance to their business, and then freely visited the VC and communicated with them in a ‘free meetup’ session. The pre-matching table enabled orderly progress, and the multi-meetup structure led to effective trust-building and communication, resulting in highly immersive networking.

Kim Heon-seong, CEO of the Ulsan Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “This was a meaningful event in that it went beyond simple fundraising and shared real-life cases of VCs and startups cooperating and growing together as ‘growth partners’ to increase trust and suggest a qualitative direction for the relationship. We will spare no effort at the center level to expand qualitatively improved cooperative relationships in the startup ecosystem in the future.”
