Coupang announced on the 29th that its luxury beauty and fashion vertical service R.LUX won the grand prize in the design concept category at the '2025 Red Dot Award', one of the world's top three design awards.
The Red Dot Design Award, one of the world's top three design awards, is hosted by the Design Zentrum North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany and annually selects winners in three categories: Product Design, Brand & Communication Design, and Design Concept. The Design Concept category evaluates ideas at the idea stage, service flow, and experimental structural design, focusing on design philosophy and potential, regardless of commercialization.
Among the design concept categories this year, Alux won the grand prize in the Interaction, UI & UX (Interaction, UI & User Experience) category.
Alux's UX design prioritizes a premium customer experience. The black and white color scheme creates an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, while the interface is simple and intuitive, allowing customers to focus on the inherent value of the products. Dedicated brand sections and high-quality images and videos provide a sensory and immersive shopping experience, maximizing customer convenience throughout the entire process, from product search to purchase.
Launched in October of last year, Aluxe won the iF Design Award in March of this year and this year's Red Dot, becoming a two-time winner of the world's most prestigious design awards in just nine months. The iF jury praised the service, stating, "It's designed to help consumers easily find luxury products that suit their preferences, and its consumer-centric UX design, built on personalized recommendations, stands out."
An Alux representative said, “We are proud to have won a global design award for the second time following the iF Design Award,” and added, “We will continue to lead the way in providing luxury experiences based on our customer-centered UX philosophy.”
