Space startup Intergravity Technologies (CEO Lee Ki-joo) announced on the 30th that it had been selected for the Deep Tech Tips (TIPS) research and development project, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This project was selected upon the recommendation of KAIST Youth Venture Investment Holdings (CEO Jeong Hoe-hoon), the operator of TIPS.
The primary goal of the project is to demonstrate the application of guidance and control technology to a small capsule released from an aircraft, enabling it to land precisely at its target location. This technology is expected to expand into diverse fields, including space exploration reentry and space-based product recovery.
InterGravity Technologies is currently developing its own orbital transport technology for capsule recovery, and plans to use this project as a starting point for the development of space-to-ground logistics technology, gradually realizing a profit-based business model.
“This demonstration is an initial step in verifying the technical feasibility and feasibility of our recovery technology,” said Cheon Se-beom, head of InterGravity’s guidance and control team. “It will also serve as an opportunity to overcome geopolitical constraints that make it difficult to secure a large landing site.”
“Integravity is a team with innovative technology that is pioneering a new market called space logistics,” said Jeong Hoe-hoon, CEO of KAIST Youth Startup Investment Holdings. “We expect that precision landing technology will become a core infrastructure in the future space economy era.”
