
Vice Minister Noh Yong-seok of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Han Sung-sook, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) held a meeting with officials from the Korean Embassy in Seoul at the Seoul Government Complex on Thursday, the 31st.
This meeting was organized to explain the overall plan for the 'APEC SME Ministerial Meeting' to be held in Jeju in September and to request active participation and cooperation from each government for the successful hosting of the meeting.
Vice Minister Noh Yong-seok said, “The APEC SME Ministerial Meeting is a meaningful meeting being held in Korea for the first time in 20 years, and it is a very meaningful opportunity to discuss the present and future of domestic and international SMEs,” and emphasized, “Solidarity and policy exchange among APEC member countries are more important than ever.”
He also added, “SMEs are key players driving sustainable growth and innovation in the global economy,” and “I hope this meeting will serve as an opportunity to lay the foundation for practical cooperation among APEC member countries.”
The 'APEC SME Ministerial Meeting' will focus on the theme of 'SMEs as the driving force of sustainable and inclusive growth' and will focus on ▲Corporate innovation cases utilizing AI, etc. ▲Each country's policy efforts to address population decline, climate change, etc. ▲Large-scale SMEs and public-private cooperation for inclusive growth.
In addition to official events such as ministerial meetings and working group meetings, the APEC SME Ministerial Meeting will also feature 10 related events, including ▲Challenge! K-Startup ▲Global Venture Investment Summit.
Vice Minister Noh Yong-seok said, “I expect that this meeting will serve as an opportunity to accelerate cooperation with member countries,” and added, “We plan to continue communicating with APEC member countries in other regions through meetings and embassy visits.”
