Verticalba (CEO Eunsol), a developer of AI solutions that optimize corporate operational processes, announced on the 1st that it has been selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Deep Tech TIPS" technology startup support program. This project was supported by a recommendation from global investment firm 500 Global, and the company will receive up to 1.5 billion won in research and development (R&D) funding over the next three years.
VerticalBar is developing an AI-based solution that analyzes actual business processes based on data from ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, detects bottlenecks in real time, and suggests optimization solutions through simulation. Through this TIPS project, the company plans to fully accelerate the development of its proprietary technology, the "Large Process Model (LPM)."
LPM is a technology that learns from large-scale ERP operational data, automatically extracts repetitive industry-specific work patterns, and builds scalable process models. While existing ERP systems merely store and manage data, LPM focuses on analyzing this data to identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies and propose AI-based alternatives.
The vertical bar also features an "Analytic Agent," a natural language-based question-and-answer feature. Users can input questions like "Why was this process delayed?" and instantly see the underlying cause in visualized charts and simulation results. This feature is unique in that it can replace months of consulting analysis with real-time AI responses.
The company is currently conducting a proof-of-concept (PoC) targeting mid-sized manufacturing and logistics companies in North America that use Oracle NetSuite ERP. Using this TIPS project as an opportunity, the company plans to expand the scope of its services to various ERP and CRM systems, including SAP and Salesforce.
Eunsol, CEO of VerticalBar, previously co-founded the global SaaS company Uiflow, where he led the company's $21 million investment and sale to Workday. "While traditional process mining merely identifies the location of problems, we provide AI-based intelligence that identifies both causes and solutions," he said. "We will go beyond the limitations of LLM and leverage technology that understands complex business processes and proposes optimal scenarios, enabling all companies to achieve efficient operations."
