Oral healthcare company IOBIO announced on July 30 that it completed patent registration for its dental imaging diagnosis artificial intelligence technology, Multi-Chromatic Analysis (MCA), developed by the company.
This patent relates to a method and system for evaluating objects using color analysis based on biofluorescence images, and includes a function that can automatically analyze and quantitatively evaluate oral health status through artificial intelligence.
Multicolor analysis overcomes the limitations of conventional RGB fluorescence analysis. It applies Lab color space analysis to automatically separate teeth and gums. It then analyzes hundreds of millions of pixel data to visualize risk and provide a numerical indicator. This improves diagnostic reliability and efficiency, enabling dentists to identify patients' lesions early and develop treatment plans.
IOBIO is integrating this technology into its oral health screening system, BLISS, to support precise diagnosis and personalized treatment planning. This non-radioactive system quantifies oral disease status and visualizes it on a color map, aiding medical professionals in making clinical decisions.
The company is expanding its product supply not only to domestic dental institutions but also to overseas markets, and plans to use this patent registration as an opportunity to further accelerate technology commercialization and global expansion.
CEO Yoon Hong-cheol stated, “We evaluate this patent registration as a case in which the value of quantitative analysis technology in the field of imaging diagnosis has been recognized, and we will contribute to establishing a treatment environment focused on early diagnosis and prevention of oral diseases.”
