Tomato Systems, a company specializing in AI software and digital healthcare, announced on the 5th that it had won a contract worth approximately 5.8 billion won for Daewoo Engineering & Construction's "Barocon System UI Screen Transformation." This contract is seen as a further demonstration of its technological capabilities and project execution capabilities in the digital transformation market.
The "Barocon System" is a core business platform operated by Daewoo E&C since 2012 to integrate the management of construction sites nationwide. It performs various functions, including process management, safety, and resource management. However, as the system ages, Daewoo E&C has decided to completely rebuild it and is pursuing a large-scale renewal to enhance stability and convenience.
This project focuses on ▲conversion to a web-based platform, ▲complete redesign of the UI/UX, ▲replacement of aging infrastructure, and ▲adoption of cutting-edge technologies. Its core goal is to convert existing ActiveX-based systems to a web-based standard environment. The project is scheduled to be implemented sequentially in two phases, from August 2024 to December 2025.
For this project, Tomato Systems plans to utilize "Xbuilder 6," a web standard UI development tool, to implement user-friendly screen layouts and dashboards. Furthermore, the company anticipates improved development efficiency and schedule compliance through "eXConverter," a solution that automatically converts existing systems to HTML5.
The Phase 2 functional improvement project will also introduce "Xbuilder 6 AIGen," an AI-based UI generation tool that automatically designs UI screens based on natural language and images, and "AIQBot," a code analysis and test automation tool. These improvements are expected to simultaneously improve development productivity and quality.
Cho Gil-ju, CEO of Tomato System, said, “Winning the contract after fierce competition and rigorous benchmark testing is a result of our technological prowess and understanding of the project being recognized in the market,” and added, “We will achieve tangible results to strengthen Daewoo Engineering & Construction’s digital competitiveness.”
