AIM Intelligence (CEO Sang-yoon Yoo), a generative AI security company, announced on the 6th that it has successfully secured a Pre-A round of funding. This round was led by Mirae Asset Capital, with participation from Bluepoint Partners' LG Uplus Strategic Fund and Z Venture Capital, the corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of Japan's LY Corporation. Existing investor Mashup Ventures also made a follow-on investment, bringing the total investment to 1.85 billion won.
Aim Intelligence has been developing solutions to address the various security issues arising from the proliferation of generative AI technology. Its core technology focuses on diagnosing potential risks associated with generative AI, such as hallucinations, bias, and personal information leaks, and building a security infrastructure capable of real-time response.
Key products include AIM Red, an automated AI safety verification tool; AIM Guard, a real-time input/output filtering solution; and AIM Supervisor, which monitors the judgment structure of AI agents. These solutions have been adopted by major financial institutions such as KB Kookmin Card, KB Securities, and Woori Bank, and are expanding their application across industries through collaborations with LG AI Research Center, KT, the Korea Credit Information Services, and TTA.
The company's technological prowess is also recognized both domestically and internationally. In 2024, it won the "Llama Impact Innovation Award" hosted by Meta, and participated in the bug bounty program of US AI company Anthropic, successfully identifying security vulnerabilities in a private AI model. As a result of its research, four papers have been accepted by major international AI conferences, including ICML and ACL.
Mirae Asset Capital's Seunghyun Cha, the lead investor in this round, explained, "With the proliferation of AI, data privacy and security issues are emerging as key challenges. Regulatory issues and a shortage of skilled personnel in various countries are expected to fuel rapid growth in the AI security market." He continued, "Aim Intelligence possesses a deep understanding of AI technology and red team-based technical capabilities, and its real-time security automation capabilities make it a highly attractive investment."
