To develop an integrated defense execution system for the Daejeon-Chungnam region , Rainbow Research Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the 32nd Infantry Division and Light Beyond Drones on Tuesday, the 5th, at the 32nd Infantry Division headquarters.
This agreement aims to utilize cutting-edge drone technology to enhance the efficiency of military operations and establish an integrated defense system between the 32nd Division, which protects the Daejeon and South Chungcheong regions, and the two companies.
The signing ceremony was attended by the 32nd Infantry Division Commander Major General Kim Ji-myeon, Rainbow Research Institute CEO Kim Yong-deok, and Light Beyond Drones CEO Gong Hyeon-cheol, and the ceremony proceeded in the following order: introductions of both companies, drone hovering and action demonstrations, and concluding remarks by the division commander.
At the action demonstration event, Rainbow Lab also demonstrated battlefield visualization capabilities, target tracking, and target coordinate acquisition using the operational drone Q540.
Through this agreement, the 32nd Infantry Division will maximize the military utility of drones. Rainbow Research Institute will provide technical support for the establishment of an integrated drone control system, support military operations and training, and upgrade its drone software. Light Beyond Drones will provide training support, close-range maintenance support for drones in operation, and the production of precision maps using 3D mapping technology, all of which will strengthen the integrated defense execution system. Rainbow Research Institute has been supplying operational drones to the 32nd Division since 2023.
Lieutenant Colonel Lee Min-seop, the 32nd Division's operational planning staff, said, "Systematic drone operation secrets and close-range maintenance support through professional personnel will lead to an increase in the division's combat capabilities."
