The Korea Women's Venture Association (Chairperson Seong Mi-sook) announced on the 7th that it will hold the "2025 Women's Venture Growth Challenge (hereinafter referred to as "Yebenseongji")" to promote women's technology entrepreneurship and recruit female (potential) entrepreneurs with startup ideas.
The 'Yeobenseongji' Startup Contest, now in its 6th year, is a program to discover promising female venture companies that will lead the venture ecosystem by stimulating a boom in women's technology startups. It is officially sponsored by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea.
An association official said, “As the Women’s Venture Social Venture Growth Committee is widely publicizing the contest, the number of sponsors will increase,” and “T&J Construction Co., Ltd., a senior women’s venture company that sympathizes with the purpose, has already participated as a sponsor.”
The 2025 Yeobenseongji will be divided into a general sector targeting women nationwide and a specialized sector operated as a pilot in cooperation with Sungshin Women's University.
The general category is open to any woman who is a start-up or has been in business for less than 6 months and has a technology startup idea.
The specialized sector is a pilot program that aims to address social issues such as preventing regional extinction and innovating the regional startup ecosystem from the perspective of young women. It was established to revitalize the Gwangju-Jeonnam region and create a specialized regional startup ecosystem.
Winners will be selected in September through document and presentation evaluations. Five outstanding startup ideas will be selected in each category, and the winners will receive awards such as the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award and the President of the Korea Women's Venture Association Award, along with a small cash prize. The awards ceremony will be held at the "2025 World Women's Venture Forum" hosted by the association in November.
Association President Seong Mi-sook stated, “We will continue to work to create an environment that will allow the boom in women’s technology entrepreneurship to continue to expand,” and added, “In particular, we will operate new entrepreneurship programs in cooperation with various channels so that the unique ideas of young women can be utilized to develop the entrepreneurship and venture ecosystem.”
