Global content company Content First (CEO Bang Seon-young) announced on the 7th that it will participate in the animation event 'Anime NYC 2025' held in New York, USA from August 21st to 24th and operate a booth for the official Tappytoon goods shop 'Club JEM'.

Club Gem is a webtoon-based merchandise brand operated by Content First, and at this event, they will be showcasing original merchandise utilizing popular webtoon IPs such as ▲King's Maker ▲The Broken Ring: This Marriage Will Fail Anyway ▲Wet Sand. At the booth, around 10 limited edition products such as postcard books, photo card books, bookmarks, key chains, and t-shirts will be sold, and fan participation programs such as lucky draws will also be held.

During the event, the English edition of "Kingsmaker," a collaboration between Content First and Penguin Random House, will be unveiled on-site ahead of its official US release (August 26th). To commemorate the event, a North American autograph session will be held in person, with "Kingsmaker" authors Kang Ji-young and Ha Ga in attendance.

Since 2023, Content First has been publishing English books based on webtoon IPs, including Cherry Blossoms After Winter and This Marriage Is Doomed to Fail, in collaboration with Penguin Random House.

Kingsmaker is a BL fantasy genre webtoon that deals with the journey of Prince Wolfgang growing into an emperor. Based on its success on domestic platforms, it has also established a loyal readership in the North American market through Tapitoon.

Content First will officially launch the Club Gem brand in November 2024 and is expanding its webtoon merchandise business. Merchandise will be planned and produced based on official licenses, aiming to create added value for webtoon IP in the global market.

“Demand for webtoon-based goods and books is gradually increasing in the North American market,” said Content First Chief Strategy Officer Ernest Woo. “Through this participation, we will broaden our contact points with global fans and expand our IP-based content business.”
