
The Korea Human Resources Development Institute (KHRDI, President Bae Geum-ju, hereinafter referred to as the HRDI) announced on the 11th that it held the '2025 1st Global Healthcare Human Resources Development Council' on the 7th and discussed establishing a nationwide collaboration network.
This meeting, attended by officials from nine local governments and their affiliated organizations related to attracting foreign patients, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare, was organized to discuss ways to foster and utilize specialized human resources in the global healthcare field.
The meeting shared key details of the "Overseas Medical Professional Training Support Project," currently being promoted by the Human Resources Development Institute, as well as examples of customized training programs for each local government and plans for utilizing graduates. This focused on collaborative training planning and implementation, reflecting the needs and opinions of the field.
In particular, in-depth discussions were held on ways to practically utilize global healthcare professionals, such as medical interpreters and international medical coordinators, in industrial settings.
The Human Resources Development Institute plans to improve its job matching support system based on graduate information and establish an integrated management platform to connect talent demand with the field. Through this, the institute aims to support not only the development of specialized talent but also sustainable employment opportunities.
Bae Geum-ju, director of the Human Resources Development Institute, said, “Close cooperation with local governments is essential for the stable settlement and utilization of professional human resources within the region,” and added, “I hope that a systematic human resources development model that reflects regional needs will be established through the Global Healthcare Human Resources Development Council.”
