My Real Trip Launches Industry-First Real-Time Guide Matching Service for International Travelers

– Industry’s first real-time guide call service

Connect with a local Korean guide within 30 minutes without prior reservation… Pilot service starting with interpreters and guides in Tokyo.

Additional features planned include hospital and government office accompaniment and restaurant line-up assistance, with plans to expand to Northern Europe and South America.

My Real Trip (CEO Dong-geon Lee), Korea's leading travel super app, announced on the 11th that it will begin pilot operation of 'Local Helper,' an on-demand support service that connects independent travelers with local Korean residents for the first time in the travel industry.

"Local Helper" is a real-time matching service that connects travelers in need of assistance in unfamiliar areas with Koreans living nearby. With no prior reservation required, helpers are available within 30 minutes of requesting assistance, enabling immediate response to a variety of situations, including interpretation and local guidance, as well as emergencies.

This service focuses on interpretation and guide services in the Shinjuku and Shibuya wards of Tokyo, Japan. Access is limited to members who have completed identity verification, have a travel reservation in the area, or are logged in locally. Each transaction can last a minimum of one hour and can accommodate up to four people.

Prior to this service, My Real Trip selected local Korean residents through document and interview screenings based on factors such as length of stay, occupation, language communication skills, and experience as a similar guide. To make travelers feel like they are traveling with acquaintances, My Real Trip selected helpers who enjoy communicating and sharing various local information.

My Real Trip plans to add features such as shopping and delivery errands, hospital and government office accompaniment, restaurant line-up assistance, and luggage storage within the year, and gradually expand its service scope to major global cities, including trendy travel regions such as Northern Europe, South America, India, and Egypt.

My Real Trip CEO Lee Dong-geon said, “This service was designed to provide Korean travelers in need of assistance in unfamiliar destinations with practical support and psychological stability through local Korean guides,” adding, “We will gradually expand the functions and regions by reflecting user feedback during the beta service period.”
