Korea Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Technology (KEVIT), a specialized electric vehicle charging infrastructure company, announced on the 12th that it had won a contract for the "2025 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Facility Product Manufacturing and Purchase Project" promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The total scale of this project is approximately 2.1 billion won, and in a competitive bidding process in which numerous domestic electric vehicle charger manufacturers participated, KEVIT was selected as the final contractor after receiving high scores in key evaluation criteria such as technological completeness, user convenience, and after-sales service.
Through this project, KEVIT plans to install 100kW and 200kW rapid chargers in 140 parking spaces across Seoul. These chargers will be located primarily at public locations and in areas with high demand for electric vehicles, and the infrastructure will be expanded to provide citizens with faster and more convenient access to electric vehicle charging.
Of particular note in this project is the 200kW ultra-fast dual charger proposed by KEVIT. This high-spec model supports 1,000V and 280A, meeting the high-voltage charging requirements of the latest electric vehicles. Furthermore, it analyzes the vehicle's battery state of charge (SoC) in real time and automatically adjusts the current, delivering charging speeds up to 40% faster than conventional rapid chargers.
A KEVIT official said, “We designed the product by comprehensively considering key elements required for public infrastructure, such as charging performance, charging efficiency, user experience, and operational stability,” and added, “Through this order, KEVIT will strengthen its position as a total solution company that goes beyond simply supplying chargers and builds a sustainable electric vehicle charging operation ecosystem.”
