The Korea Venture Business Association (Chairman Song Byung-jun) announced on the 12th that it is recruiting companies to participate in the 'North American Tech Service K-Innovation Mission', which supports promising domestic small and medium-sized venture companies to enter the North American market in cooperation with the Canadian government and private innovation organizations.
This project aims to select 20 competitive domestic companies focusing on five major technology fields, including AI, energy storage systems (ESS), mobility, smart cities, and deep tech, and support commercialization and investment linkages through collaboration with local Canadian partners.
Key local partners include MILA (Montreal Institute for Artificial Intelligence), Vector Institute (Toronto), Invest Windsor-Essex, Andorix, Invest Ontario, and Nemo Partners. Participating companies will participate in various programs aimed at achieving tangible results, including technology and market validation, customized feedback, joint project discovery, and investment attraction.
Additionally, participating companies will receive access to Elevate Festival, North America's largest startup and innovation conference held in Toronto, Canada, as well as local institutional matching, one-on-one sales missions, investment briefings, and networking events. Pre-event preparations will also include support for strengthening presentation skills, providing local market information, and producing joint promotional materials.
An official from the Korea Venture Business Association said, “This project will serve as an opportunity for participating companies to establish a foundation for entering the North American market based in Canada and strengthen their connections with the global innovation ecosystem. Based on this, we hope to expand our business throughout North America, including the U.S. and Central and South America.”
