HOMI AI. Inc. (Co-CEOs: Kim Kyung-tae and Kim Tae-yoon), a generative AI technology startup in which the Ulsan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as the Ulsan Center, CEO: Kim Heon-seong) made an initial investment, has been selected for the 'Global TIPS' program.
Global TIPS is a global specialized track of the existing TIPS, where the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and private operators jointly discover and support promising startups. Through this selection, HOMI AI will receive approximately 1.2 billion won in research and development (R&D) funding.
To overcome the limitations of the commercial image generation market, HOMIAI is developing an AI image generation solution, "Refy (tentative name)," based on input images. Existing generative AI has struggled to consistently reproduce people and objects or control detailed elements, limiting its commercial applicability. To address these challenges, HOMIAI is focusing on developing a framework solution capable of generating images while maintaining the consistency of people and objects without text prompts.
In particular, Homie AI has secured seed investment from Hustle Fund, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, and is conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) trials with local companies through its US subsidiary. Furthermore, it is accelerating its global expansion by securing a partnership that will lead to tangible sales through collaboration with fashion magazine Orange Boy to produce an image advertisement.
The Ulsan Center decided to invest, valuing Homie AI's outstanding AI technology and global market growth potential. Lee Jae-ik, head fund manager of Asan Yustar Private Investment Association, stated, "This technology goes beyond simple image generation AI and will transform the production paradigm across the entire content industry. The Ulsan Center will fulfill its role as a growth partner, driving technological advancement and global expansion together."
Homie AI co-CEOs Kim Kyung-tae and Kim Tae-yoon stated, “We plan to use our selection as a Global Tips opportunity to aggressively target the North American and European markets,” and expressed their ambition to “make a leap forward as the global number one company in the blank market of commercial image creation.”
