글로벌 시험인증기관 TUV SUD Korea(이하 티유브이슈드코리아)는 18일, 전과정평가(LCA) 전문 기업 탄소중립연구원과 전략적 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 국내 제조기업의 국제 환경 규제 대응 역량을 강화하고, 수출 제품에 대한 ISO 기반 환경 검증을 체계적으로 지원하기 위한 목적이다.
협약에 따라, 양 기관은 국제표준 ISO 14040, ISO 14044(전과정평가 기준) 및 ISO 14067(제품탄소발자국 기준)에 기반한 제품탄소발자국(PCF) 및 전과정평가(LCA) 검증 서비스를 공동으로 제공한다. 탄소중립연구원이 데이터 산정 및 LCA 수행을 맡고, 티유브이슈드코리아는 이를 기반으로 국제적으로 인정받는 제3자 검증서를 발급하게 된다.
ISO 14040·14044 및 ISO 14067은 제품 및 서비스의 환경영향을 과학적이고 표준화된 방식으로 측정하고 검증하는 국제 표준이다. 이를 통해 기업은 ▲탄소배출량 산정의 신뢰성 확보 ▲대외 이해관계자 대응력 강화 ▲환경 규제 대응 ▲지속가능성 전략 수립 등 다양한 효과를 기대할 수 있다.
양 기관은 이번 파트너십을 통해 국내 제조기업이 LCA를 직접 수행할 수 있는 역량을 갖추고, ISO 기반의 객관적 환경 검증을 수월하게 진행할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다. 특히 CBAM(탄소국경조정제도), EU 배터리 규정, ESG 보고서 등 다양한 규제 및 기업공시 요구사항에 대응할 수 있는 통합 검증 솔루션을 제공함으로써, 기업의 사전적 리스크 예방과 글로벌 시장에서의 경쟁력 확보를 뒷받침할 예정이다.
티유브이슈드코리아는 EU 배출권거래제(EU ETS) 및 CBAM 분야에서 공식 검증기관으로 활동 중이며, 유럽·북미 등 주요 수출 시장에서 높은 신뢰도를 기반으로 다양한 검증 서비스를 제공해 왔다. 지속가능성 보고서, PCF, LCA 등 ESG 전반의 국제 기준 검증 서비스를 통해 국내 기업의 글로벌 진출을 지원하고 있다.
탄소중립연구원은 2021년 설립된 기후테크 스타트업으로, 전과정평가 SaaS 솔루션 ‘LynC’를 통해 기업의 탄소 데이터와 환경영향 정보를 통합 관리하고 ISO 표준에 부합하는 검증을 지원한다. 주요 대기업 및 스타트업을 대상으로 한 맞춤형 컨설팅 및 시스템 구축을 통해, 자립적인 환경경영 체계를 실현할 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.

TUV Sud Korea Signs Strategic MOU with Carbon Neutrality Research Institute
Global testing and certification agency TUV SUD Korea announced on the 18th that it signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Carbon Neutral Research Institute, a life cycle assessment (LCA) specialist. This agreement aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing companies' ability to comply with international environmental regulations and systematically support ISO-based environmental verification for export products.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly provide product carbon footprint (PCF) and life cycle assessment (LCA) verification services based on the international standards ISO 14040, ISO 14044 (Life Cycle Assessment), and ISO 14067 (Product Carbon Footprint). The Carbon Neutral Research Institute will be responsible for data calculation and LCA implementation, while TUV SUD Korea will issue an internationally recognized third-party verification certificate based on this data.
ISO 14040, 14044, and ISO 14067 are international standards for scientifically and standardized measurement and verification of the environmental impact of products and services. Through these standards, companies can expect various benefits, including: ensuring the reliability of carbon emissions calculations; strengthening their ability to respond to external stakeholders; responding to environmental regulations; and establishing sustainability strategies.
Through this partnership, the two organizations plan to empower domestic manufacturers to conduct LCAs and facilitate objective ISO-based environmental verification. Specifically, by providing an integrated verification solution that addresses various regulations and corporate disclosure requirements, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the EU Battery Regulation, and ESG reporting, the two organizations will support companies in proactive risk prevention and secure competitiveness in the global market.
TUV SUD Korea serves as an official verification body for the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and CBAM, providing a wide range of verification services based on a high level of reliability in major export markets such as Europe and North America. It supports Korean companies' global expansion through verification services for a wide range of ESG standards, including sustainability reports, PCFs, and LCAs.
Founded in 2021, the Carbon Neutrality Research Institute is a climate tech startup. Through its life cycle assessment SaaS solution, "LynC," the institute integrates corporate carbon data and environmental impact information and supports verification in compliance with ISO standards. Through customized consulting and system development for major corporations and startups, the institute supports the implementation of self-reliant environmental management systems.

Cet accord vise à renforcer la capacité des entreprises manufacturières nationales à se conformer aux réglementations environnementales internationales et à soutenir systématiquement la vérification environnementale ISO pour les produits exportés.
Aux termes de cet accord, les deux organisations fourniront conjointement des services de vérification de l'empreinte carbone des produits (ECP) et de l'analyse du cycle de vie (ACV) conformément aux normes internationales ISO 14040, ISO 14044 (Analyse du cycle de vie) et ISO 14067 (Empreinte carbone des produits). Le Carbon Neutral Research Institute sera responsable du calcul des données et de la mise en œuvre de l'ACV, tandis que TUV SUD Korea délivrera un certificat de vérification tiers reconnu internationalement, basé sur ces données.
