스타트업 투자 및 육성 전문기업 퓨처플레이(대표 권오형)가 중소벤처기업부의 ‘팁스(TIPS) 특화형(글로벌)’ 운영사로 최종 선정됐다고 8일 밝혔다.
이번 선정은 유망 스타트업의 해외 진출을 체계적으로 지원할 수 있는 제도적 기반을 마련했다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 중소벤처기업부는 2024년부터 기존 팁스 운영사 중에서도 글로벌, 지역, 상생, 기후테크 등 분야별 전문성을 갖춘 투자사를 ‘특화형 운영사’로 지정해 전략 산업 및 고성장 가능 기업의 육성을 강화하고 있다. 퓨처플레이는 이 가운데 ‘글로벌’ 분야 운영사로 이름을 올렸다.
특화형 운영사에 지정되면 해당 분야 창업기업에 대한 추천권 우선 배정, 맞춤형 성장 프로그램 운영 등 다양한 지원 혜택이 주어진다. 이를 통해 퓨처플레이는 글로벌 시장을 목표로 하는 창업기업의 스케일업을 보다 집중적으로 추진할 수 있게 됐다.
퓨처플레이는 2014년 팁스 2기 운영사로 처음 선정된 이후 11년 연속 ‘우수’ 등급을 유지하며 운영 역량을 입증해왔다. 지금까지 총 803억 원 이상의 누적 투자를 집행했으며, 노을, 에스오에스랩, 이노스페이스, 뉴로핏 등의 IPO와 이피디바이오테라퓨틱스, 맨드언맨드의 M&A 등 다양한 성공 사례를 보유하고 있다.

Futureplay Selected as Operator for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Tips Global Specialized" Program
Future Play (CEO Oh-hyung Kwon) , a startup investment and incubation specialist, announced on the 8th that it was finally selected as the operator of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'TIPS Specialized (Global)'.
This selection is significant in that it establishes an institutional foundation to systematically support the overseas expansion of promising startups. Starting in 2024, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will designate existing TIPS operators with expertise in areas such as global, regional, coexistence, and climate technology as "specialized operators." Designated as a specialized operator, FuturePlay receives various support benefits, including priority allocation of recommendation rights for startups in the relevant field and customized growth programs. This allows FuturePlay to more effectively support the scale-up of startups targeting the global market.
Since being selected as a TIPS 2nd-generation operator in 2014, FuturePlay has proven its operational capabilities by maintaining an "Excellent" rating for 11 consecutive years. To date, it has executed cumulative investments exceeding KRW 80.3 billion and boasts a diverse portfolio of successes, including the IPOs of Noel, SOS Lab, Innospace, and Neurofit, and the M&A of EPD Biotherapeutics and Mandunmand.
