생성형 AI 스타트업 포티투마루(42Maru, 대표 김동환)가 22일부터 25일까지 아랍에미리트 아부다비·두바이·샤르자에서 열리는 ‘한-아랍에미리트(UAE) 경제협력위원회(UAE-KOREA JOINT BUSINESS COUNCIL)’ 사절단에 참여해 공공AX 국제 협력 무대를 넓혀간다고 밝혔다.
한-UAE 경제협력위원회는 2023년 한국 대통령의 국빈방문을 계기로 발족이 합의된 이후, 2024년 한-UAE 포괄적경제동반자협정(CEPA) 체결을 거쳐 양국 교역·투자 확대를 위한 민관 협력 창구로 출범한다. 이번 발족식은 한국무역협회와 UAE연방상공회의소가 공동 주관하며, 9월 22일부터 25일까지 아부다비, 두바이, 샤르자에서 열린다. 한국 측에서는 디지털·차세대 산업, 첨단기계·모빌리티, 에너지·인프라 분야 대표 기업 25여 개사가 참여하고, UAE 측에서는 경제관광부(MoET), 산업첨단기술부(MoIAT), 투자부(MoI), 아부다비투자진흥청(ADIO), 두바이복합상품센터(DMCC), 무바달라 국부펀드(Mubadala) 등이 함께한다.
디지털 및 차세대 산업 분야 대표 위원으로 김동환 대표와 박주식 해외사업 총괄이사가 참석하는 포티투마루는 UAE 샤르자 디지털청과 ‘공공 웹사이트 AI 어시스턴트’ 협력을 진행 중에 있으며, 이를 기반으로 한-UAE 간 장기적 협력 모델을 제시할 계획이다. 또한 사우디아라비아 네옴(NEOM) 더 라인(The Line) 프로젝트 경험을 토대로, 중동 전역에서 현지 행정과 산업에 특화된 공공AI 적용 방안을 제안한다. 이번 사절단에서는 UAE 경제관광부 장관 면담을 비롯, 각 토후국 정부 및 기관과의 비즈니스 라운드테이블을 통해 맞춤형 AI 도입 가능성을 구체적으로 논의할 예정이다.
이번 사절단 참여는 포티투마루가 한국에서 축적한 공공AX 경험을 중동 시장으로 확장하는 중요한 계기로, UAE 정부의 디지털 자립과 행정 혁신 전략에 부합하는 공공AI 협력 모델을 제시함으로써, 향후 기술 이전, 현지 인재 양성, 공동 개발 프로젝트 등 다각적인 협력이 이어질 것으로 기대된다.
포티투마루는 생성형 AI 스타트업으로 초거대 언어모델의 단점인 환각(hallucination) 현상을 검색증강생성 기술인 RAG42와 인공지능 독해 기술인 MRC42와의 엔지니어링으로 완화하고 전문 산업 분야에 특화된 경량화 모델 LLM42를 개발•서비스하고 있다. 기업용 Private 모드를 지원하여 기업 내부 데이터와 민감한 고객 정보 유출에 대한 걱정없이 안전하게 초거대 AI를 활용할 수 있으며, 솔루션 구축과 학습, 서빙에 들어가는 비용을 획기적으로 절감할 수 있다.

Generative AI startup 42Maru (CEO Dong-Hwan Kim) announced that it will participate in the delegation of the 'UAE-KOREA JOINT BUSINESS COUNCIL' held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates from the 22nd to the 25th, expanding the stage for international cooperation in public AX.
The Korea-UAE Economic Cooperation Committee, which was agreed to be launched during the Korean President's state visit in 2023, will be launched as a public-private cooperation channel to expand trade and investment between the two countries following the conclusion of the Korea-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in 2024. The inauguration ceremony will be co-hosted by the Korea International Trade Association and the UAE Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and will be held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah from September 22nd to 25th. Approximately 25 leading Korean companies in digital and next-generation industries, advanced machinery and mobility, and energy and infrastructure will participate, while the UAE will be represented by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism (MoET), the Department of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the Department of Investment (MoI), the Abu Dhabi Investment Promotion Authority (ADIO), the Dubai Multi-Commodity Centre (DMCC), and the Mubadala Sovereign Wealth Fund (Mubadala).
Forty2Maru, which will be attended by CEO Kim Dong-hwan and Overseas Business Director Park Joo-sik as representatives from the digital and next-generation industry sectors, is currently collaborating with the UAE's Sharjah Digital Authority on a "Public Website AI Assistant" and plans to present a long-term cooperation model between Korea and the UAE based on this. Furthermore, based on its experience with Saudi Arabia's NEOM The Line project, the delegation will propose public AI application plans tailored to local administration and industry across the Middle East. The delegation will meet with the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism and hold business roundtables with governments and organizations in each emirate to discuss the possibility of introducing customized AI in detail.
Participation in this delegation is an important opportunity for FortiTumaru to expand its public AX experience accumulated in Korea to the Middle Eastern market. By presenting a public AI cooperation model that aligns with the UAE government's digital self-reliance and administrative innovation strategies, it is expected that future multifaceted cooperation will continue, including technology transfer, local talent development, and joint development projects.
Forty2Maru, a generative AI startup, mitigates the hallucination phenomenon, a drawback of large-scale language models, by engineering them with RAG42, a search-augmented generation technology, and MRC42, an AI reading technology. La startup d'IA générative 42Maru (PDG Dong-Hwan Kim) a annoncé qu'elle participera à la délégation du « Conseil d'affaires conjoint Émirats arabes unis-Corée » qui se tiendra à Abou Dabi, Dubaï et Sharjah, aux Émirats arabes unis, du 22 au 25, élargissant ainsi le champ de la coopération internationale dans le domaine public de l'IA.
Le Comité de coopération économique Corée-Émirats arabes unis, dont la création avait été convenue lors de la visite d'État du président coréen en 2023, sera lancé en tant que canal de coopération public-privé visant à développer les échanges commerciaux et les investissements entre les deux pays suite à la conclusion de l'Accord de partenariat économique global (CEPA) Corée-Émirats arabes unis en 2024. La cérémonie d'inauguration sera organisée conjointement par l'Association coréenne du commerce international et la Chambre de commerce et d'industrie fédérale des Émirats arabes unis, et se tiendra à Abou Dabi, Dubaï et Sharjah du 22 au 25 septembre.
