AI 도로 복구 로봇 개발 스타트업 ㈜로보로드(대표 김남호)는 서울대기술지주로부터 2억 원 규모의 시드 투자를 유치했다고 16일 밝혔다. 이번 투자는 로보로드의 기술력과 사업화 가능성을 기반으로 이루어진 것으로, 향후 기술 실증과 상용화에 속도를 더할 것으로 기대된다.
로보로드는 인공지능(AI) 기반의 도로 포장 관제·의사결정 시스템과 자율주행 복구 로봇을 결합한 무인 도로 유지관리 플랫폼을 개발 중이다. 이 시스템은 도로 손상 상태를 실시간으로 탐지하고, 무인 로봇이 자동으로 복구 작업을 수행함으로써 유지관리의 효율성과 안전성을 동시에 확보하는 것을 목표로 한다.
현재 로보로드는 제주 지역에서 진행 중인 RISE(지역혁신시스템·교육) 사업에 참여해 도로 복구 로봇의 현장 실증과 데이터 고도화를 준비하고 있다. 이와 함께 기술보증기금이 운영하는 벤처캠프 프로그램에도 선정되어 기술사업화 전략 수립 및 투자 유치 역량 강화 활동을 병행하고 있다.
이번 서울대기술지주의 투자는 이러한 실증 및 사업화 활동을 바탕으로 로보로드의 기술 고도화와 시장 진출을 위한 기반 마련에 기여할 것으로 평가된다.
김남호 로보로드 대표는 “이번 투자를 통해 당사의 기술력과 비전이 공식적으로 인정받았다”며, “제주 실증 사업과 벤처캠프 참여를 토대로 자율형 도로 복구 로봇의 상용화와 국내외 시장 진출을 본격적으로 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
서울대기술지주 목승환 대표는 “도로 포손과 포트홀로 인한 사고는 사회적으로 지속적인 부담이 되고 있다”며 “로보로드의 AI 예측 기술과 무인 복구 시스템은 이러한 사고를 사전에 예방하고 사회적 비용을 줄일 수 있는 대안이 될 것으로 판단했다”고 밝혔다.
로보로드는 이번 투자를 발판으로 자사의 AI 기반 기술 고도화와 무인 도로 복구 플랫폼의 상용화 추진에 박차를 가한다는 계획이다.

RoboRoad Inc. (CEO Nam-ho Kim), a startup developing AI road restoration robots, announced on the 16th that it has secured 200 million won in seed investment from Seoul National University Technology Holdings. This investment builds on RoboRoad's technological prowess and commercialization potential, and is expected to accelerate future technology validation and commercialization.
Roborod is developing an unmanned road maintenance platform that combines an AI-based road pavement control and decision-making system with autonomous road repair robots. This system aims to simultaneously ensure maintenance efficiency and safety by detecting road damage in real time and having unmanned robots automatically perform repair tasks.
Currently, Roborod is participating in the RISE (Regional Innovation System and Education) project in Jeju, preparing for field demonstrations and data enhancement of road restoration robots. Furthermore, Roborod has been selected for the Venture Camp program operated by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KIBO), where it is developing a technology commercialization strategy and strengthening its investment attraction capabilities.
This investment by Seoul National University Technology Holdings is expected to contribute to laying the foundation for Roboro's technological advancement and market entry based on these verification and commercialization activities.
Kim Nam-ho, CEO of Roboro, said, “This investment officially recognizes our technological prowess and vision,” and added, “Based on our participation in the Jeju demonstration project and venture camp, we will actively pursue the commercialization of autonomous road restoration robots and their entry into domestic and international markets.”
Seoul National University Technology Holdings CEO Mok Seung-hwan said, “Accidents caused by road damage and potholes are a persistent social burden,” and added, “We believe that Roboroad’s AI prediction technology and unmanned recovery system will be an alternative that can prevent such accidents in advance and reduce social costs.”
Roborod plans to use this investment as a springboard to advance its AI-based technology and commercialize its unmanned road restoration platform.

ソウル大技術持株モク・スンファン代表は「道路砲手とポートホールによる事故は社会的に持続的な負担となっている」とし「ロボロードのAI予測技術と無人復旧システムはこうした事故を事前に予防し、社会的費用を減らすことができる代替案になると判断した」と明らかにした。
ロボロッドは今回の投資を踏み台として自社のAI基盤技術の高度化と無人道路復旧プラットフォームの商用化の推進に拍車をかけるという計画だ。

(PDG : Nam-ho Kim), start-up développant des robots de restauration de routes dotés d'intelligence artificielle, a annoncé le 16 décembre avoir obtenu un investissement initial de 200 millions de wons auprès de Seoul National University Technology Holdings. Cet investissement s'appuie sur les prouesses technologiques et le potentiel de commercialisation de RoboRoad et devrait accélérer la validation et la commercialisation de ses futures technologies.
Roborod développe une plateforme d'entretien routier automatisée combinant un système de contrôle et de prise de décision basé sur l'IA et des robots de réparation routiers autonomes.
