엔씨소프트의 독립 AI 전문 조직인 NC AI는 30일 육군 인공지능센터와 ‘상호협력 및 교류를 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 협약식에는 NC AI 김근교 글로벌사업실장과 육군 인공지능센터 김성숙 센터장을 비롯한 양 기관 관계자들이 참석했다.
이번 협약은 양 기관이 협력적 파트너십을 구축해 AI 기반 첨단 과학기술 강군 발전에 기여하고, 상호 발전을 도모하기 위한 목적에서 추진됐다. 특히 육군의 ‘AI 기반 유무인 복합전투체계’ 구축을 목표로 하는 2040 비전과 NC AI의 첨단 기술력이 결합해 군 인공지능 생태계 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
협약에 따라 양 기관은 인공지능 발전을 위한 지식 및 정보 교류를 강화하고, AI 시제품 개발과 전문 인력 양성 등 실질적인 협력 방안을 추진한다. NC AI는 육군 인공지능센터의 기술 역량 강화를 지원하고, 육군은 NC AI와 함께 시제품 공동 개발 및 기술 교류 확대를 위한 협력 체계를 운영할 계획이다.
이번 협약의 핵심은 단순한 기술 이전을 넘어, 공동 관심 분야에 대한 지속적인 협의와 상호 협력으로 이어지는 개방형 협력 체계를 구축하는 데 있다. 양 기관은 이를 통해 빠르게 변화하는 AI 기술 환경에 능동적으로 대응하고, 국방 분야의 특수성을 고려한 맞춤형 AI 개발을 공동으로 추진할 방침이다.
NC AI 김근교 글로벌사업실장은 “육군 인공지능센터와의 전략적 협력을 통해 대한민국 국방 AI 혁신의 새로운 장을 열어나가겠다”며 “NC AI의 기술력과 육군의 실전 경험을 결합해 자주적인 국방 AI 체계를 구축할 것”이라고 말했다.
육군 인공지능센터 김성숙 센터장은 “이번 협약을 통해 AI 기술력 확보를 가속화하고, 첨단 과학기술 기반의 정예 육군 구현에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.

NC AI Signs MOU with Army Artificial Intelligence Center

NC AI will support the strengthening of the Army AI Center's technological capabilities, and the Army plans to operate a cooperative system with NC AI to jointly develop prototypes and expand technological exchanges.
The core of this agreement goes beyond simple technology transfer to establish an open cooperative system that fosters ongoing consultation and collaboration on areas of shared interest. Through this, the two organizations aim to proactively respond to the rapidly evolving AI technology landscape and jointly pursue customized AI development that takes into account the unique characteristics of the defense sector.
NC AI Global Business Division Director Kim Geun-gyo said, “Through strategic cooperation with the Army Artificial Intelligence Center, we will open a new chapter in the Republic of Korea’s defense AI innovation,” and “By combining NC AI’s technological prowess with the Army’s practical experience, we will build an independent defense AI system.”
Kim Seong-sook, head of the Army Artificial Intelligence Center, said, “Through this agreement, we will accelerate the acquisition of AI technology and contribute to the implementation of an elite army based on cutting-edge science and technology.”

NC AI signe un protocole d'entente avec le Centre d'intelligence artificielle de l'armée
NC AI, la filiale de NCSoft spécialisée en intelligence artificielle, a annoncé le 30 la signature d'un protocole d'accord avec le Centre d'intelligence artificielle de l'armée américaine en vue d'une coopération et d'échanges mutuels. Des représentants des deux organisations, dont Kim Geun-kyo, directeur de la division commerciale internationale de NC AI, et Kim Seong-sook, directrice du Centre d'intelligence artificielle de l'armée américaine, ont assisté à la cérémonie de signature.
Cet accord vise à établir un partenariat de coopération entre les deux organisations, contribuant au développement d'une force scientifique et technologique de pointe, fondée sur l'IA, et favorisant une croissance mutuelle. Plus précisément, la Vision 2040 de l'Armée de terre, qui vise à mettre en place un système de combat combiné homme-machine basé sur l'IA, et la technologie de pointe de NC AI devraient contribuer à l'avancement de l'écosystème d'IA militaire.

Grâce à ce système, les deux organisations entendent répondre de manière proactive à l'évolution rapide du paysage technologique de l'IA et poursuivre conjointement le développement d'une IA personnalisée qui tienne compte des spécificités du secteur de la défense.
Kim Geun-gyo, directeur de la division commerciale mondiale de NC AI, a déclaré : « Grâce à une coopération stratégique avec le Centre d'intelligence artificielle de l'armée, nous ouvrirons un nouveau chapitre dans l'innovation en matière d'IA de défense de la République de Corée », et « En combinant les prouesses technologiques de NC AI avec l'expérience pratique de l'armée, nous construirons un système d'IA de défense indépendant. »
Kim Seong-sook, directrice du Centre d'intelligence artificielle de l'armée, a déclaré : « Grâce à cet accord, nous accélérerons l'acquisition de technologies d'IA et contribuerons à la mise en place d'une armée d'élite fondée sur une science et une technologie de pointe. »
