인공지능(AI) 기반 수술지원 솔루션 기업 휴톰과 다관절 복강경 수술기구 및 수술로봇 전문기업 리브스메드가 기술 협력과 공동사업 추진을 위해 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 5일 밝혔다.
이번 협약을 통해 양사는 각사의 핵심 기술을 결합해 차세대 수술 환경 구축과 글로벌 시장 경쟁력 강화를 추진한다. 협력 범위에는 공동 연구개발, 마케팅, 학술행사, 인력 교류 등이 포함된다.
휴톰은 AI와 3D 영상기술을 활용해 수술 전 계획, 수술 중 내비게이션, 수술 후 데이터 분석까지 지원하는 통합 플랫폼을 개발하고 있다. 핵심 솔루션인 ‘RUS(Surgical Navigation Platform)’는 2D CT 이미지를 3D 해부학 모델로 변환하고 복강경·내시경 수술 시 포트 배치 및 내비게이션 기능을 제공하며, 국내 주요 상급종합병원에서 도입돼 효율성과 안전성을 입증했다.
리브스메드는 상하·좌우 90도 회전이 가능한 다관절 복강경 수술기구 ‘아티센셜(ArtiSential)’과 첨단 복강경 수술로봇 ‘스타크(STARK)’를 개발하고 있다. 스타크를 이용한 초장거리 원격수술 실험은 2025년 7월 미국에서 성공적으로 수행됐다.
휴톰 형우진 대표는 “리브스메드의 첨단 수술기구와 휴톰의 AI 기술 결합으로 수술 정밀도와 효율성이 향상될 것”이라며 “이번 협약을 통해 글로벌 의료기술 경쟁력을 확보하겠다”고 말했다.

Hutom Signs Business Agreement with LivesMed
Hutom , an artificial intelligence (AI)-based surgical support solution company, and Livesmed, a company specializing in multi-joint laparoscopic surgical instruments and surgical robots, announced on the 5th that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for technological cooperation and joint business promotion.
Through this agreement, both companies will combine their core technologies to build a next-generation surgical environment and enhance their competitiveness in the global market. The scope of the collaboration includes joint research and development, marketing, academic events, and personnel exchange.
Hutom is developing an integrated platform that leverages AI and 3D imaging technology to support preoperative planning, intraoperative navigation, and postoperative data analysis. Its core solution, the "RUS (Surgical Navigation Platform)," transforms 2D CT images into 3D anatomical models and provides port placement and navigation capabilities for laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries. Its efficiency and safety have been proven in major domestic general hospitals.
LivsMed is developing the "ArtiSential," a multi-joint laparoscopic surgical instrument capable of 90-degree rotation, both vertically and horizontally, and the "STARK," a cutting-edge laparoscopic surgical robot. An ultra-long-distance telesurgery experiment using STARK was successfully conducted in the United States in July 2025.
Hutom CEO Hyung-jin Jin said, “The combination of Livesmed’s cutting-edge surgical instruments and Hutom’s AI technology will improve surgical precision and efficiency,” adding, “Through this agreement, we will secure global medical technology competitiveness.”

Hutom , une société de solutions d'assistance chirurgicale basées sur l'intelligence artificielle (IA), et Livesmed, une société spécialisée dans les instruments chirurgicaux laparoscopiques multi-articulaires et les robots chirurgicaux, ont annoncé le 5 qu'ils avaient signé un protocole d'accord (PA) pour la coopération technologique et la promotion conjointe des affaires.
Grâce à cet accord, les deux entreprises mettront en commun leurs technologies clés afin de créer un environnement chirurgical de nouvelle génération et de renforcer leur compétitivité sur le marché mondial. La collaboration portera notamment sur la recherche et le développement conjoints, le marketing, les événements universitaires et les échanges de personnel.
Hutom développe une plateforme intégrée qui exploite l'intelligence artificielle et l'imagerie 3D pour faciliter la planification préopératoire, la navigation peropératoire et l'analyse des données postopératoires. Sa solution phare, la « RUS (Plateforme de Navigation Chirurgicale) », transforme les images tomodensitométriques 2D en modèles anatomiques 3D et offre des fonctionnalités de positionnement des trocarts et de navigation pour les chirurgies laparoscopiques et endoscopiques. Son efficacité et sa sécurité ont été démontrées dans de grands hôpitaux généraux chinois.
LivsMed développe « ArtiSential », un instrument chirurgical laparoscopique multi-articulé capable d'une rotation à 90 degrés, verticalement et horizontalement, et « STARK », un robot chirurgical laparoscopique de pointe. Une expérience de téléchirurgie à très longue distance utilisant STARK a été menée avec succès aux États-Unis en juillet 2025.
