제주창조경제혁신센터(대표이사 이병선, 이하 제주센터)는 4일 글로벌 벤처캐피털 FAO 파트너스(대표이사 이홍주)와 국내 스타트업의 해외 진출 및 투자유치 활성화를 위한 글로벌 펀드 조성 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 제주를 거점으로 스타트업이 해외 시장으로 진출할 수 있는 투자 인프라를 확충하고, 글로벌 펀드를 통해 성장을 촉진하기 위해 마련됐다. 양 기관은 ▲글로벌 펀드 설립 및 구조 설계 ▲공동투자 기회 발굴 및 실행 ▲투자자 유치 및 네트워크 확장 등에서 협력할 예정이다.
FAO 파트너스는 한국과 싱가포르를 기반으로 한 글로벌 벤처캐피털로, 2024년 8월 싱가포르 투자기관의 지분 취득 이후 해외 네트워크를 본격 확장하고 있다. 한국에서는 어썸벤처스(주)로 활동하며, 중소벤처기업부 등록 액셀러레이터로도 등록되어 있다. 제주센터와는 과거 ‘TIPS’ 프로그램 협력 경험이 있다.
제주센터 이병선 대표는 “이번 협약은 제주의 직항 노선을 중심으로 글로벌 투자 네트워크 거점을 마련하는 중요한 계기”라며 “제주 스타트업이 세계 시장에서 경쟁력 있게 성장할 수 있도록 글로벌 펀드 연계와 투자 네트워크 확장을 지속해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

The Jeju Center and FAO Partners signed a business agreement to establish a global fund.
Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center) announced on the 4th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with global venture capital firm FAO Partners (CEO Lee Hong-joo) to establish a global fund to promote overseas expansion and investment attraction for domestic startups.
This agreement aims to expand the investment infrastructure for Jeju-based startups to expand into overseas markets and to foster growth through global funds. The two organizations will collaborate on: establishing and structuring a global fund; identifying and executing joint investment opportunities; and attracting investors and expanding their networks.
FAO Partners, a global venture capital firm based in Korea and Singapore, has been actively expanding its international network since acquiring a stake in a Singaporean investment firm in August 2024. In Korea, it operates as Awesome Ventures, Inc., and is registered as an accelerator with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. It has previously collaborated with the Jeju Center on the "TIPS" program.
Jeju Center CEO Lee Byeong-seon said, “This agreement is an important opportunity to establish a global investment network centered on Jeju’s direct flight routes,” and added, “We will continue to expand our investment network and connect with global funds to help Jeju startups grow competitively in the global market.”

済州センター、FAOパートナーズと「グローバルファンドの造成」業務協約締結
済州創造経済革新センター（代表取締役イ・ビョンソン、以下、済州センター）は４日、グローバルベンチャーキャピタルＦＡＯパートナーズ（代表取締役イ・ホンジュ）と国内スタートアップの海外進出及び投資誘致活性化のためのグローバルファンド造成業務協約（ＭＯＵ）を締結したと明らかにした。
今回の条約は済州を拠点にスタートアップが海外市場に進出できる投資インフラを拡充し、グローバルファンドを通じて成長を促進するために設けられた。両機関は▲グローバルファンド設立及び構造設計▲共同投資機会の発掘及び実行▲投資誘致及びネットワーク拡張などで協力する予定だ。
FAOパートナーズは韓国とシンガポールを基盤としたグローバルベンチャーキャピタルで、2024年8月シンガポール投資機関の持分取得以後海外ネットワークを本格拡張している。韓国ではアサムベンチャーズ（株）として活動し、中小ベンチャー企業部登録アクセラレーターとしても登録されている。済州センターとは過去「TIPS」プログラム協力経験がある。
済州センターイ・ビョンソン代表は「今回の条約は済州の直航路線を中心にグローバル投資ネットワーク拠点を設ける重要なきっかけ」とし、「済州スタートアップが世界市場で競争力を持って成長できるように、グローバルファンド連携と投資ネットワーク拡張を継続していく」と話した。

Le Centre de Jeju et les partenaires de la FAO ont signé un accord commercial pour la création d'un fonds mondial.
Le Centre de Jeju pour l'économie créative et l'innovation (PDG Lee Byeong-seon, ci-après dénommé Centre de Jeju) a annoncé le 4 avoir signé un protocole d'accord avec la société mondiale de capital-risque FAO Partners (PDG Lee Hong-joo) pour créer un fonds mondial destiné à promouvoir l'expansion à l'étranger et l'attraction des investissements pour les jeunes entreprises nationales.
Cet accord vise à développer l'infrastructure d'investissement permettant aux jeunes entreprises de Jeju de s'implanter sur les marchés internationaux et de favoriser leur croissance grâce à des fonds mondiaux. Les deux organisations collaboreront sur : la création et la structuration d'un fonds mondial ; l'identification et la mise en œuvre d'opportunités d'investissement conjointes ; et la recherche d'investisseurs et l'expansion de leurs réseaux.
FAO Partners, société de capital-risque internationale basée en Corée et à Singapour, développe activement son réseau international depuis sa prise de participation dans une société d'investissement singapourienne en août 2024. En Corée, elle opère sous le nom d'Awesome Ventures, Inc. et est enregistrée comme accélérateur auprès du ministère des PME et des Startups. Elle a déjà collaboré avec le Jeju Center dans le cadre du programme « TIPS ».
Lee Byeong-seon, PDG du Jeju Center, a déclaré : « Cet accord représente une opportunité importante pour établir un réseau d'investissement mondial centré sur les liaisons aériennes directes de Jeju », et a ajouté : « Nous continuerons à développer notre réseau d'investissement et à nous connecter avec des fonds internationaux pour aider les startups de Jeju à se développer de manière compétitive sur le marché mondial. »
