의료 인공지능(AI) 기업 루닛은 이재명 대통령의 UAE 국빈방문 일정에 맞춰 진행된 과학기술정보통신부 주관 기업 MOU 체결식에서 UAE IT 인프라·의료 통합기업 ‘ARJ Group’과 의료AI 디지털 헬스 혁신을 위한 MOU를 체결했다고 20일 밝혔다. 루닛은 이번 행사에 정부 초청 기업으로 참여하며 중동 지역 AI·첨단기술 협력 기반을 확보했다.
1997년 설립된 ARJ 그룹은 중동에서 IT 인프라와 의료기술을 통합 제공하는 기업으로, 글로벌 기술을 적용한 엔드투엔드 솔루션을 지역에 최적화해 공급해왔다. 양측은 이번 협력을 통해 UAE를 포함한 중동 지역의 병원 및 공공의료기관에 정부사업으로 개발 중인 ‘의과학 특화 AI 파운데이션 모델’을 시범 적용하는 것을 목표로 한다.
또한 루닛의 AI 기술과 ARJ의 현지 네트워크 및 파트너십을 활용해 의료AI 기술 실증 및 디지털 헬스 고도화를 위한 다양한 협력을 추진하기로 했다. ARJ 그룹은 GCC 국가뿐 아니라 유럽과 중국으로 사업을 확장하며 정부기관, 공공의료체계, 대형 병원 등 다양한 분야에 디지털 인프라와 의료AI 솔루션을 제공해온 만큼, 이번 파트너십은 파운데이션 모델의 글로벌 확산을 위한 중요한 전환점이 될 것으로 전망된다.
서범석 루닛 대표는 이번 MOU가 “AI 파운데이션 모델 기반 의료 혁신을 중동에서 본격적으로 구현하고 확산하는 첫걸음”이라며, 이를 바탕으로 중동 지역 의료AI 사업 확대를 가속화하겠다고 밝혔다.

Medical artificial intelligence (AI) company Lunit announced on the 20th that it signed an MOU for medical AI digital health innovation with ARJ Group, an integrated IT infrastructure and healthcare company in the UAE, at a corporate MOU signing ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, which was held in conjunction with President Lee Jae-myung's state visit to the UAE. By participating in this event as a government-invited company, Lunit secured a foundation for cooperation in AI and advanced technologies in the Middle East.
Founded in 1997, ARJ Group is a company that provides integrated IT infrastructure and medical technology in the Middle East. It provides end-to-end solutions utilizing global technologies, optimized for the region. Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to pilot the "Medical Science-Specialized AI Foundation Model," currently under development as a government project, at hospitals and public healthcare institutions in the Middle East, including the UAE.
Furthermore, the two companies have agreed to pursue various collaborations to validate medical AI technologies and advance digital health, leveraging Lunit's AI technology and ARJ's local network and partnerships. ARJ Group has expanded its operations beyond the GCC countries to Europe and China, providing digital infrastructure and medical AI solutions to a wide range of sectors, including government agencies, public healthcare systems, and large hospitals. This partnership is expected to be a significant turning point in the global expansion of the Foundation Model.
Seo Beom-seok, CEO of Lunit, said that this MOU is “the first step toward fully implementing and expanding medical innovation based on the AI foundation model in the Middle East,” and that he would accelerate the expansion of medical AI business in the Middle East based on this.

また、ルーネットのAI技術とARJの現地のネットワークとパートナーシップを活用し、医療AI技術の実証とデジタルヘルスの高度化のための多様な協力を推進することにした。 ARJグループはGCC諸国だけでなくヨーロッパと中国に事業を拡大し、政府機関、公共医療体系、大型病院など多様な分野にデジタルインフラと医療AIソリューションを提供してきただけに、今回のパートナーシップはファンデーションモデルのグローバル拡散のための重要な転換点になると見込まれる。
ソ・ボムソク・ルーネット代表は今回のMOUが「AIファンデーションモデルベースの医療イノベーションを中東で本格的に実装して拡散する第一歩」とし、これをもとに中東地域医療AI事業の拡大を加速すると明らかにした。

Lunit , entreprise spécialisée dans l'intelligence artificielle médicale, a annoncé le 20 la signature d'un protocole d'accord avec ARJ Group, société émiratie d'infrastructures informatiques et de santé intégrée. Cette signature, organisée par le ministère des Sciences et des TIC en marge de la visite d'État du président Lee Jae-myung aux Émirats arabes unis, visait à développer l'innovation numérique dans le domaine de l'IA médicale. En participant à cet événement en tant qu'entreprise invitée par le gouvernement, Lunit a posé les bases d'une coopération en matière d'IA et de technologies de pointe au Moyen-Orient.
Fondé en 1997, ARJ Group est une entreprise spécialisée dans les infrastructures informatiques et les technologies médicales intégrées au Moyen-Orient. Elle propose des solutions complètes s'appuyant sur des technologies internationales, optimisées pour la région. Seo Beom-seok, PDG de Lunit, a déclaré que ce protocole d'accord est « la première étape vers la mise en œuvre et le développement complets de l'innovation médicale basée sur le modèle de fondation de l'IA au Moyen-Orient », et qu'il accélérerait le développement des activités liées à l'IA médicale au Moyen-Orient sur cette base.
