생성형 AI 스타트업 포티투마루(42Maru, 대표 김동환)가 지난 18일 삼성동 코엑스에서 열린 ‘2025 데이터·클라우드 진흥주간’ 개막식에서 ‘2025년도 클라우드 산업발전 유공’ 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창을 수상했다고 19일 밝혔다.
과학기술정보통신부가 주최하는 ‘클라우드 산업발전 유공 표창’은 국내 클라우드 이용 활성화 및 기술 개발, 산업 육성에 기여한 기업과 개인을 선정해 수여하는 상이다. 포티투마루 김동환 대표는 클라우드 및 SaaS 기반 생성형 AI 기술을 조기 상용화하고, 공공·민간의 AI 전환(AI Transformation, AX)을 선도한 공로를 인정받았다.
포티투마루는 도메인 특화 경량화 거대언어모델(LLM42), 검색증강생성(RAG42), 인공지능 독해(MRC42) 솔루션을 SaaS 형태로 개발·보급하며 기업들이 초기 비용 부담 없이 AI를 도입할 수 있는 환경을 조성했다. Plug & Play 방식의 Agentic Workflow AI 솔루션 ‘DocuAgent42’와 글로벌 B2B2C SaaS 서비스 ‘사이트버니(SiteBunny)’를 출시하며 미국, 영국, 중동 등 글로벌 시장 진출도 확대했다.
김동환 대표는 대통령 직속 국가인공지능전략위원회, 디지털플랫폼정부위원회 등 주요 정부 위원회 전문위원으로 활동하며 국가 클라우드 및 AI 정책 수립에 기여했고, 네이버클라우드 등 국내 CSP와 협력해 사우디아라비아 네옴시티, UAE 샤르자 디지털청 프로젝트에 참여하며 국내 클라우드 생태계 외연을 넓혔다.
포티투마루는 기업용 Private 모드를 통해 내부 데이터와 민감 정보 유출 우려 없이 초거대 AI를 안전하게 활용할 수 있는 솔루션을 제공하며, 비용 효율성을 높였다. 무료 AI 챗봇 서비스 제공과 청년 인재 채용 등 사회적 책임 실천에도 나서고 있다.

FortiTumaru Receives Commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT
Generative AI startup 42Maru (CEO Dong-Hwan Kim) announced on the 19th that it received the Minister of Science and ICT's Award for 'Contribution to the Development of the Cloud Industry in 2025' at the opening ceremony of the '2025 Data and Cloud Promotion Week' held at COEX in Samseong-dong on the 18th.
The "Cloud Industry Development Award," hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, recognizes companies and individuals who have contributed to the promotion of domestic cloud usage, technological development, and industry development. Forty2Maru CEO Kim Dong-hwan was recognized for his early commercialization of cloud- and SaaS-based generative AI technology and for leading the public-private AI Transformation (AX) initiative.
Forty2Maru develops and distributes domain-specific lightweight giant language models (LLM42), augmented search generation (RAG42), and artificial intelligence comprehension (MRC42) solutions as SaaS, creating an environment where companies can adopt AI without incurring upfront costs. CEO Kim Dong-hwan served as an expert member of key government committees, including the Presidential Committee on National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the Digital Platform Government Committee, contributing to the establishment of national cloud and AI policies. He also expanded the scope of the domestic cloud ecosystem by participating in projects such as NEOM City in Saudi Arabia and Sharjah Digital Authority in the UAE in cooperation with domestic CSPs such as Naver Cloud.

Le prix « Développement de l'industrie du cloud », décerné par le ministère des Sciences et des TIC, récompense les entreprises et les personnes ayant contribué à la promotion de l'utilisation du cloud, au développement technologique et à la croissance de l'industrie en Chine. Kim Dong-hwan, PDG de Forty2Maru, a été distingué pour sa commercialisation précoce de la technologie d'IA générative basée sur le cloud et le SaaS, ainsi que pour son rôle moteur dans l'initiative de transformation de l'IA (AX), un partenariat public-privé.
